Yulara & Uluru Sunset
Uluru-Kata Tjuta Cultural Centre - Begin an eight-day journey at 2 pm by meeting the Storyteller Guide in front of the Desert Gardens Hotel. After introductions, visit the Cultural Centre in Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park to immerse in its stunning natural beauty and rich cultural heritage. Uluru and Kata Tjuta are spiritually significant, with many creation stories converging here. While some stories remain private, gain insights into the Anangu culture and admire their land through exhibits and presentations with Anangu and park rangers.
Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park - After setting up camp, head to a viewing platform to witness the famous changing colors of Uluru at sunset. This is a perfect moment to reflect on the vastness of the desert.
Ayers Rock Campground - Enjoy a campfire dinner and get acquainted with fellow travelers. Sleep under a sky full of stars in an Aussie swag. The day’s drive covers about 60km.
Uluru
Uluṟu-Kata Tjuṯa National Park - Rise early to experience the serenity of a sunrise over Uluru. Watch as the sunlight transforms the landscape, changing the rock formations’ colors. Get up close to Uluru, a natural wonder standing 348 meters high and around 550 million years old. A guided 10km base walk offers a chance to connect with the rock and learn its stories. Relax by tranquil waterholes, rest under a Sheoak tree, and explore hidden caves.
Ayers Rock Resort - After lunch, join a dot painting workshop with a local Anangu artist and interpreter. This 1.5-hour experience teaches ancient symbols used in Anangu art and some basic Pitjantjatjara words. Create a personal artwork to cherish.
Ayers Rock Campground - Return to camp for free time. Relax by the pool or participate in activities at Ayers Rock Resort, such as a didgeridoo performance, a guided garden walk, or exploring museum artifacts. Enjoy a delicious dinner at camp. The day’s drive is about 50km, with the option to walk up to 10km on the Uluru base walk, though shorter walks are available.
Yulara to Kings Canyon / Watarrka
Kata Tjuta - The Olgas - Depart Yulara and head towards Watarrka National Park and Kings Canyon. First, experience the awe of Kata Tjuta, rising 546 meters above the ground. This sacred site is a key feature of the Red Centre, with ridges and ravines linked to Indigenous creation stories. Embark on the Valley of the Winds guided walk, a memorable nature experience. Discover a sanctuary for plants and animals, including wallabies and wildflowers, as you wander through the narrow creek valley between two of Kata Tjuta’s largest domes.
Kings Creek Station - Arrive at the camp at Kings Creek Station for some relaxation before dinner at your leisure. The day’s journey covers about 325kms.
Kings Canyon to Coober Pedy
Kings Canyon - Start early for the breathtaking Kings Canyon Rim Walk, a magical experience. With 300-meter-high sandstone walls, hidden waterholes, fern forests, chasms, canyons, and caverns, Watarrka National Park is an oasis in central Australia. Enjoy 360-degree views and explore Priscilla’s Crack, made famous by the film Priscilla Queen of the Desert. See the sandstone domes of the Lost City and the lush Garden of Eden.
Erldunda - Lunch stop
Coober Pedy - Rest during a long drive across the Northern Territory and South Australian border. Make several stops before reaching Coober Pedy, known as ‘The Opal Capital of the World’. Due to extreme heat, most of the town is underground, with residents living in cave-like homes carved into hillsides. Stay in a unique underground bunkhouse and enjoy free time to explore and dine at local eateries. The day’s drive covers approximately 760km.

William Creek to Flinders Ranges via the Oodnadatta Track
Skytrek Willow Springs Station - After a delicious dinner prepared by the Guide, relax and enjoy a spectacular light show. The Flinders Ranges is renowned for its clear skies, making it an ideal location for an optional stargazing experience with an expert astronomer and physicist. Take a short drive from camp and use a 10-inch reflecting telescope to view constellations, globular clusters, nebulae, and the planets Saturn and Jupiter. Experiences range from $90 to $190pp and can be arranged with the Guide on the day. Sleep under a starry sky and marvel at the Milky Way. The day’s drive is approximately 500km.
Ikara-Flinders Ranges National Park
Wilpena Pound - Explore ancient gorges and discover beauty at every turn. Hike through tall river red gums and pines, past waterholes and a historic ruined homestead, culminating in breathtaking views of the surrounding wilderness. After a picnic lunch, enjoy a scenic drive at Brachina Gorge.
Skytrek Willow Springs Station - Return to camp to relax and enjoy a final dinner together. The total driving distance today is approximately 160km.
Flinders Ranges to Adelaide
Arkaroo Rock - After a final breakfast, pack up and set out on the Arkaroo Rock Trail, offering impressive views over the Chace Range. Arkaroo Rock is a significant cultural site for the Adnyamathanha people, featuring rock art depicting the Yura Muda (Dreaming or creation story) of Ikara.
Alligator Gorge - Enjoy a picnic lunch before heading to Alligator Gorge in the Southern Flinders Ranges, located in Mount Remarkable National Park, a perfect way to conclude the tour.
Adelaide - The final stretch of the journey passes through the picturesque Clare Valley wine region, arriving in Adelaide around 6 pm. The day’s travel covers approximately 450km.
