Meet Mu Cang Chai's bulldozing on a motorcycle - The excursion is very fun you pass through spectacular landscapes and also take you to a lot of sites very difficult to access. The bamboo forest is impressive and the rice fields look like they were taken from a science fiction film. The food is delicious and overall we had a great time 100 × 100 recommended!

BEST TOUR IN MU CANG CHAI - DONT BOTHER LOOKING ANYWHERE ELSE!!!!! - TLDR- THIS IS THE BEST TOUR YOU CAN GET IN MU CANG CHAI. ENGLISH-SPEAKING TOUR GUIDES, AMAZING LOCAL EXPERIENCE, THE ONLY TOUR WITH WILD HONEY HARVESTING!! Dont even bother looking elsewhere, I looked everywhere, you simply won't find anywhere better 😂 Long review incoming because that's how much I loved it. If you read this you HAVE to come to do a tour with Yien and his family. We started off the day with a wild bee honey harvest tour. We climbed and hiked up a beautiful little forest to where Yien's brother in law had found a beehive. We watched him climb the tree to get to it. Absolutely crazy and skilled! The honey is also so different to anything I've tasted -a floral, fruity, sweet nectar. We got 100ml free with the tour, I just wish I bought more bottles of it to support the family and share with my friends. Such a unique, fun, adventurous activity. Yien told me that this activity wasn't always available because they had to find a hive that was accessible first but definitely test your luck and ask! We then went to Yien and his family's home where we ate a delicious lunch 🤤(part of the tour). They showed us the way they usually eat, and showed us how they made rice wine. We then moved on to the second tour - the motorbike tour around terrace rice fields. This was really fun and Yien explained the way people live here and how the rice fields fed the people here. The sights were just breathtaking. He took us to all the famous places, but I personally think a lot of the places we passed and his little secret viewpoint stops were the main winners. I definitely recommend the full day tour so you can see the dinosaur spine mountain. He also took us to a bamboo forest in a different commune which was beautiful, but apparently they just started pettily charging the motorbikes tour guides recently due to being competitive with Yien's commune (The rice fields in Lapantan commune didn't) I found this interesting😂 and paid them anyways. I travelled to Vietnam mainly for the food. When I kept rambling on about food and my interest in Hmong food to Yien, he offered to take me home to eat dinner with his family. Best meal I have had in Vietnam. (This is not part of the tour but definitely a bonus - especially if you stay with him) Best of all, this entire family was so kind, accommodating and welcoming. Talking to them and being around them warmed my heart. It really felt like I was having fun with friends. Thank you so much !!! I am now in love with Mu Cang Chai.

Welcomes, Wheels, and Wild Honey: A Homestay Like No Other - We had an amazing experience at the indigenous homestay. Yeng and his family were incredibly kind and welcoming, making us feel right at home. The food was fresh and delicious, with the pork, fried potatoes, and banana fritters being our favorites. The highlight of our trip, however, was the tour—farming, harvesting wild honey, and the thrilling motorcycle ride. Thank you for an unforgettable adventure!

Our best experience from Vietnam - We really recommend to take a motorbike full day trip with your personal local driver Where you will see the whole valley, seriously you will see everithing! Rice fields from every angle (it is worth it), beautiful views, waterfall, local market, bamboo forest. The best thing is that you will feel as guided by a friend who will take you on places where nobody can go. Local motorbike drivers are real profesionals and you will be amazed by their skills. We visited the area on August 2024 and we were almost alone here, with no tourists.

Great motorbike tour! - The motorbike tour was really awesome! Yien is a great guide who speaks very good English (and a few words of French). If you want to see particular spots, waterfalls, swim or anything else, Yien is very flexible depending on our desires for the tour. Even if the price may seem a little high, I totally recommend it to see the region!

The perfect day in Mu Cang Chai!! - As soon as I booked my staying in the upper Homestay of Yien’s family, I contacted him to ask for any activity available during my staying. He immediately contacted me on WhatsApp- perfect English which is also a plus- sharing details of the available activities. After taking a look to the offers, I asked for a whole day trip that could get me in the real Mu Cang Chai experience. He got it right! He planned out a whole day ride in the mountains all around Mu Cang Chai! We went to take some honey from the wild bees and it was wildly amazing! Then we walked on a crazy hike- real steep always wear trekking shoes- to get to a waterfall! They caught some fish and crab for lunch- but still got a vegetarian option for me! Then we kept riding towards the Old Forest which is a protected area! Enormous! Next time I’ll be back- cause I definitely will be- I’ll ask for trekking in the forest. On our way back, we stopped on the famous raspberry rice field terrace. I was there in mid April, so no green or yellow not water but still it was so so amazing. For the whole day, including Lunch, it was 1.200.000vdg - oh also including 330ml of the honey we caught. I am super happy with the day we spent together- so it’s highly recommended. Also, Yien is very adjustable he can make the perfect trip tailor made !
