Highlights
  • The Museum of Qin Terra-cotta Warriors and Horses - Your private guide and driver will meet you in your hotel lobby around 08:30 or at a time you request. You’ll then take a one-hour drive to the Terra Cotta Warriors and Horses Museum. Enjoy a three-hour visit to museum pits 1, 2, and 3, as well as the Bronze Chariots exhibition, all without any stops at tourist factories. Afterward, you’ll have lunch at a local restaurant before driving back to downtown Xi’an for two optional city attractions. At the end of the day, your guide and driver will return you to your hotel.
  • Big Wild Goose Pagoda (Dayanta) - Your first option is to visit the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, a landmark of Xi’an’s history and a relic of the Great Tang dynasty. Your private guide will explain why the pagoda leans, the principles of Buddhist philosophy, and the current state of religion in China. If you visit on a chanting day, you’ll see many monks and believers in the yard.
  • Xi’an City Wall (Chengqiang) - The second option is to climb to the top of the 600-year-old Ancient City Wall. Enjoy a 20-30 minute walk or rent a bike for a 30-minute ride along the wall, with your guide providing historical context.
  • Xi’an Banpo Museum - The third option is the Xi’an Banpo Museum, where you’ll learn about a 6000-year-old matriarchal clan through the original village site, which is divided into three parts: living house site, burial tombs site, and pottery-making kilns. Vivid pictures, movies, models, and videos help illustrate life during this unique period of “girl power.”
  • Temple of the Eight Immortals (Ba Xian An) - The fourth option is a Daoist/Taoist temple popular among locals for praying, listening to monk chants, consulting fortune tellers, or buying burial objects in the nearby market.
  • Muslim Market - The fifth option is the Muslim Market, also known as Muslim Street. In the afternoon, follow your guide to explore Muslim snacks along the bustling street, including lamb skewers, yellow sticky rice, stir-fried ice cream, nut candy, and beef burgers. You can spend an hour or more here, depending on your preference.
  • Xi’an Mosque - The final option is the over 1300-year-old Xi’an Mosque, which combines traditional Chinese garden art with Islamic culture.

Great day at terracotta warriors - We had a great day with Julia. She was a wonderful guide, very knowledgeable about the terracotta warriors as well as all things Xi’an. She knew the best spots to get pictures and gave great advice about how to maximize our time in the city. Of all the guides we had in China, she spoke the best English. We appreciated spending the day with her and recommend her without hesitation.

10/10 worth it - Our guide Amber was amazing, informative, answered all our questions. We chose Muslim market and the pagoda as the 2 additions to Terracotta Army. Amber recommended a delicious and inexpensive lunch spot. Our driver was safe and prompt. Highly recommend this combo, especially if you’re short on time in Xi’an

Eight Immortals and Qin Dynasty History - A very special day, traveling with my 16 yo daughter, to visit the Terracotta Warriors (which I visited as a 15 yo on a school trip). Anna our guide (and our driver) helped us to tick all of the boxes. We visited a Taoist temple in the morning as we wanted to learn more about this aspect of Chinese culture. Then we saw all three pits inside the Qin museum. The pit areas were very busy and we had constant rain, but that did not spoil our enjoyment (nor Anna’s enthusiasm for imparting her knowledge of Chinese history and culture). We shared a delicious lunch (including three items on our bucket list of things to try in XI’AN). A safe drive home with big smiles and full hearts. Thank you!

Xi’an private choice day tour with excellent English speaking guide - Amazing private tour. Rosa, our guide has excellent English & her knowledge was great and she made it fun for the kids. We went to the Terracotta Warriors & then chose our own adventure for the rest of the day. With Rosa’s guidance, we chose the Camel Bell show (highly recommend) and a drive through the city stopping for photos and information on the Wild Goose Pagoda and the City Wall. Thank you
