A Traditional Craftsmanship - This was an extremely enjoyable experience. Not only did you get to see what an art it is to produce such amazing glass sculptures, you got to ask as many questions as needed to learn more about the craft. I was completely blown away by the demonstration of a horse being blown in a traditional manner. Well worth a visit and the tour around the c3000 pieces which are available to purchase is just mind blowing.

Memorable Experience - This is a short introduction to glass blowing. My 11 and 13 year old boys were very entertained. The glass making process was explained very clearly with some jokes thrown in. We had a nice time taking a private taxi from St. Marco square for E80.00 and the water taxi No. 4.2 back, for a lot less. We had a lot of fun picking a glass keepsake from our trip to Murano. We really had fun learning about the different artists who created the beautiful pieces. Things to know: - Water taxis are frequent but take up to 40 min to get to the Murano island. - You probably should tip the glassmakers, they expect it. - It is like a sauna inside so be prepared. - All the glass work is really pricey. - They will ship to USA for free. - If you pay cash you get a bigger discount and if you purchase anything of $400.00 you could get up to 50% off. - the last room has the most inexpensive trinkets so just don’t linger unless you want the attention, it might seem pushy to people from USA but they are just trying to explain about the different work of art with a lot of pride. - Bring some water as summers are very hot. - Glass factories have bathrooms.

Watch the presentation and run to Burano! - Murano is an island near Burano, and it is worth seeing the presentation of how they produce their crystals. The process is surprising and purely artistic. But don't spend much time there. Spend 90% of your time in Burano, if you want to be impacted by colours and an amazing vibe. You will understand!

Book ahead for a magical visit - Book ahead as we did. We were treated like royalty and had our own guide and front row seats to ourselves. Watching the man make a case and a gorse was great to see. Afterward we had a private tour of the Morano shop. Absolutely amazing, I fell in love with so many pieces but unfortunately it was a little out of my price range.

Glass factory and glass blowing - Glass blowing was interesting but be aware prices in the shops are really expensive. Language bit of an issue with people from different countries on same tour.

Glass Prices Can Melt Down If Yoy Ask - The demonstration was interesting. Be aware that prices can and should be bartered. I way overpaid for a pair of earrings. I realized this when the price kept deodorant another item I looked at. There are several demonstrations throughout Burano and my other friends had a better experience. Both in a more detailed demonstration and fair prices at the end.

An interesting tour - It was good to see close up the working of the glass factory. We had some explanation on how to work the glass but I felt we could have seen more of the factory.

SCAM! - We were approached by a man in San Marco Square telling us about a free boat ride to Murano Island for a factory tour and a free boat ride back. I asked ahead of time how long we would have to wait for the boat ride back and he said 10 minutes at most. There’s boats going back-and-forth all the time. We got there and were assigned to a sales person who had us sit through demonstration which was extremely short. Maybe 5 to 10 minutes. Afterwards, there are showrooms and showroomsrooms of art glass and jewelry other pieces that are for sale “at a factory discount of 40%!” So we went through the process of walking through all the different rooms and at the end we did by a conservative pieceof jewelry. When our sales person took us back out to the dock for the boat, he strangely asked my husband if he was a teacher. In front of all of the personnel who was responsible for getting us back home. Which to me was “code” for telling the dockmen that we didn’t spend enough money. So we ended up sitting there for about 45 minutes until I had a minor fit after watching four boats, leave ahead of us. I got angry and so finally, they put us on the next boat back. The boat rides were great. but it’s definitely for the sucker tourists that we were today.
