During your 3.5-hour highway journey, your guide will share the history and stories of the Great Wall, particularly focusing on the patriotic general Qijiguang, who made significant contributions to the Huangyaguan Great Wall. This section of the Great Wall, often seen as a miniature version of the entire wall, stretches about 26 miles along the mountain ridges north of Tianjin. The stone base was constructed during the Northern Qi Dynasty (550 - 557), and the brick battlements were added in the Ming Dynasty (1368 - 1644). Huangyaguan Great Wall is renowned for its historical significance, and you will learn more about it on the way.
Upon arrival, you will have approximately 2 to 3 hours to hike and enjoy the breathtaking views of the mountains from the wall. Afterward, you will have a late local lunch before your guide and driver take you back to Tianjin Xingang International Port, your Tianjin hotel, or your hotel in Beijing, depending on your booking.
