Forget Thai green curry, papaya salad and mainland staple fare; Phuket’s proud of it’s dim sim houses and sticky, dark moo hong pork belly curry, it’s soy sauce noodles and crepe-wrapped fresh spring rolls.
Wrap your chopsticks around sticky handmade fresh spring rolls, wok-fried mee hoon, Hokkien noodles peppered with delicate prawn wontons and char sui barbecue pork, spiced chicken curry puffs, gaeng som fish curry and much more on this gastronomic island journey.
But this tour isn’t just about the food. It’s about the people and the place. Why does the city have pretty Portuguese townhouses? Why the city is festooned with Chinese temples? And what are those amulets that everyone’s wearing?

The meeting point is at the ‘San Chao Jui Tui Shrine’ in Phuket Old Town, along a road called Soi Phutorn. The guide will meet you at the steps outside the shrine, or you’ll see them at the small cafe on the opposite side of the road to the left, called Cha Chang.

A Must Do In Phuket - I recently went on a food tour in Phuket and it was one of the highlights of my trip! The food was absolutely delicious, with every stop offering something unique, flavorful, and rich with history. I loved how each dish came with a story that gave a deeper appreciation for Phuket’s culture and traditions. Our guide, Lucky, made the whole experience even better—she was funny, knowledgeable, and incredibly accommodating, always making sure we had drinks, felt comfortable, and enjoyed every moment. The combination of amazing food, fascinating history, and Lucky’s warmth made this tour unforgettable. Truly a must-do in Phuket!

A really great time. - Really interesting walking tour around Phuket Old Town with a friendly, knowledgeable, helpful guide who introduced us to the history of Phuket, the various influences on the cuisine. Introduced us to the families who prepare the food - some are 3rd generation - and explained about the variou dishes.

Unforgettable Food Tour in Phuket – A Culinary Adventure! - Yesterday, I joined a food tour in Phuket – and I can absolutely recommend it! The tour was extremely well organized and offered an impressive variety of dishes from Thai cuisine. From savory classics to surprising street food specialties, there was something for everyone.
One important tip upfront: Come hungry! There was a lot of food – definitely more than enough to fill you up, so don’t eat too much beforehand.
What I appreciated most was that we visited restaurants and street food stalls we would never have found on our own. That’s what made this tour so special: you get authentic insights into the local food culture and have the chance to try dishes that most tourists would probably miss.
A special shoutout to our tour guide Cat, who was absolutely amazing – super knowledgeable, friendly, and passionate about Thai food and culture. She really made the experience extra enjoyable.
Bottom line: A great way to explore Phuket through its flavors – delicious, diverse, and highly recommended!

A vibrant dive into Thai culinary inspiration and history - From start to finish, Nam was attentive, knowledgeable, fluent, and enthusiastic. We were guided from place to place, a few being 3rd or 4th generation cooking families who have perfected their craft. We went from local markets where locals frequented, to upmarket fine local eateries that are saved for the most special occasions in Thai life.
A brilliant experience for anyone who likes food!

BEYOND OUR WILDEST FOOD IMAGINATIONS - If you're thinking about booking this food tasting excursion, stop thinking and do it! From the moment we met our guide, Lucky, we knew we were in for something special. Her energy, knowledge, and passion for food and people made the entire experience unforgettable. She gave such wonderful insight of dailylife in Phuket.
The food...OMG!! The Food!! Every stop was better than the last, showcasing local flavors with creativity, hospitality, and flair. But here’s the thing: don't go hungry- go starving. Seriously. You think you’re ready, but you’re not... buckle up!. There's no amount of stomach stretching to prepare you. There is so much food, more than we could have imagined! We tried everything from savory bites, to spicy noodles, to sweet indulgences, and it just kept coming. AND the hospitality of the Thai people. THE HOSPITALITY!!! You're served in the loving homes of natives, street-side restaurants, a Michelin Star restaurant, and restaurants that should have Michelin stars.
This tour is a feast in every sense of the word. It’s like eating at date night 6 times over. Lucky guided us through each dish with insight and humor, making us feel like we were eating with a local friend who knew all the hidden gems. What a special person.
Highly recommend this experience. If you dare to venture into this world of food, just be sure to wear your stretchiest pants, pack a back-up stomach, and your walking shoes.

Amazing Food Tour. Your stomach will thank you. - This was one of the best food tours I have ever been on. Gigi was an amazing tour guide. Not only did she introduce me to a wonderful array of yummy, flavorful, freshly prepared, local foods, but she also taught me a lot about Phuket's history, its diverse culture, and taught me some Thai words which I hope to retain for future use during my travels in Thailand. I highly recommend this experience. It is truly unforgettable and your stomach will thank you.
