Roller Coaster Road is a stretch with significant elevation changes, featuring a 2.5-kilometer straight section. It is one of the eight scenic spots in Furano. The road’s name comes from its undulating slopes. Majestic mountains and lush gardens line both sides, offering a full appreciation of Hokkaido’s landscape. Visitors often enjoy driving along this road.
- Aoike - Aoike is situated on the left bank of the Biei River in Hokkaido. It was created by a dam to prevent volcanic magma flow. In sunlight, the pool’s water reflects a blue hue, giving it its name. The view of Biei Green Pond is enchanting, often shrouded in clouds and mist, earning it the nickname “Japan’s Little Dragon”.
Every morning, the water turns a beautiful shade of blue, pure and bright. Aoike was once photographed by National Geographic photographer Kent Shiraishi. The image was later acquired by Apple and became one of the default desktops of the Mac series. The water of Aoike contains rich minerals and sandy components from volcanic ash. Under sunlight, the pool displays various hues with subtle variations in the environment, creating a sense of anticipation for what it might reveal next.

One of Japan’s oldest flower fields, Tomita Farm has transformed from its former lavender fields to a large pastoral farm with over 150 types of flowers. Lavender typically blooms in early June. The winter greenhouse opens to the public in mid-August, showcasing various plants such as lavender and geraniums. In addition to lavender, other flowers are also grown in the garden. Saffron blooms from mid-April to May. From the top of the flower field, visitors can enjoy views of the Furano Basin and the Tokachi mountain range.
