Tikal with Mayawalk - a safe bet - Another wonderful tour with Mayawalk, this time to Tikal. Organisation very smooth, the day worked like clockwork. Guided across the border, good transport, great guide and a lovely lunch. Tikal ruins a real spectacle.

Great organisation, an excellent day at Tikal - The Tikal day tour with Maya Walks was a fantastic experience. We had 2 weeks in Belize and with a hire car, travelled to most Mayan ruins independently but used Maya Walks to see Tikal as we couldn’t take the hire car over the Guatemalan border. The trip was very well organised with clear instructions where to meet and what to bring and the price advertised included everything - border crossing fees, park fees, lunch, taxes etc. The Maya Walks rep assisted with the border crossing and introduced us to our Guatemalan driver and guide. The group size was pretty small (7) and the minibus very comfortable. Tikal itself was amazing, not only for the ruins themselves but also the extraordinary amount of animal and birdlife to see - howler monkeys, spider monkeys, toucans, a silver fox etc. Our guide was really knowledgeable and pitched the guidance really well covering interesting points but not overloading with too much detail. Lunch on the way back was at a restaurant, good choice offered and decent food. Good value for a full day out.

Go! Excellent experience. - Excellent from start to finish. Great drivers (this matters a lot), smooth transition to Guatemala, beautiful scenery, knowledgeable and personal guide, lunch was delicious and of course Tikal was amazing. Tips: bring snacks, lunch is late but snacks and water available for purchase in Tikal. You must exchange money though if buying anything. Gift shop on the way takes cards.. Wear nonslip shoes. Be prepared to get sweaty and binoculars are great for bird and monkey sightings.

Go To Tikal With MayaWalk - We spent 5 days / 4 nights in San Ignacio. We took 3 tours with MayaWalk and had them pick us up at BZE airport and take us to the ferry terminal in Belize City. Every interaction and every tour we had with them was fantastic. The trip to Tikal was seamless and easy and we spent hours there. Would trust this company with our travel experience any day.

Amazing! - The tour was very good. We did not to worry about the boarder crossing as they did take care of it. Tikal is beautiful and not that hard to walk around it. Lots of steps but manageable. The lunch was great…Guatemalan food was natural fruit juices were delicious!

Highly recommend MayaWalk for all tours and shuttles around San Ignacio!! - MayaWalk is an EXCELLENT tour company in San Ignacio. We used them for 2 tours and 2 shuttles and were very happy with our experience. Their communication over email/text was great, and all of the drivers/tour guides were very knowledgeable about Belize. I really appreciated being able to use one company for everything. Our first driver Karim gave us a mini tour of the town of San Ignacio, which was very useful during our stay. We appreciated the restaurant recommendations. We did the Tikal day trip and it was amazing! Very easy crossing into Guatemala, where we met with a Guatemalan guide. Tikal is very large, so there is a lot to see. One of the best parts was being able to climb to the top of many of the temples! We were scheduled to do the ATM cave, but due to rains/high river levels, all caves were closed. We were very disappointed, but MayaWalk offer us other tours for that day that we could do. Not much they could do about water levels, but we appreciated their flexibility with rescheduling. Great company!

Things of Fun! Make the trip to Guatemala - You can't go to San Ignacio and not go to Tikal, and Maya Walk was the best. They took the worry away with the few extra things they did. It was so early in the morning that the offered to stop for coffee, asked if we wanted to stop for breakfast tacos and burritos, made regular stops for restroom breaks, and took us for a lovely lunch (included) at a local restaurant. Everything was in order for crossing the border and they gave us an opportunity to exchange money in case we wanted to make purchases in Guatemala. The stop at the gift shop outside the park was the place to get something authentically made there so don't miss your opportunity on the way there to get something. Karim, Noel, and our driver were exceptional!

Well organized and informative - An exceptionally well organized tour, all logistical details well thought out for a smooth experience. We were lucky to only have one other person in our group so it felt almost like a private tour. The guide was well informed and enthusiastic, and lunch at a Guatemalan restaurant was tasty and pleasant. Our only regret was that we couldn't do an overnight stay in Tikal!

We had a blast visiting Tikal. It was so incredible to see the ancient Mayan temples and pyramids. It was a good day! - We had a blast visiting Tikal. It was so incredible to see the ancient Mayan temples and pyramids. Such a mind blowing experience. The day started early with a very seamless border crossing from Belize to Guatemala where our tour guide met us. From there we traveled to Tikal. Then we walked all around Tikal as our tour guide shared so much interesting information. Then we made our way back to the van where we drove to eat an amazing lunch in a village a little ways from Tikal. After lunch my group and I took a nice nap as we made our way back to the border. It was a great trip. I highly recommend!

Great Mayan ruins, tour guide was below expectations - Tikal itself is an amazing site to visit. we chose MayaWalk because of their reputation. The travel was easy and all of our drivers were excellent. Maya arranges for a Guatemalan driver and guide once you cross the border from Belize. Our guide was very friendly but we felt his knowledge of the site itself was fairly limited. Most of what was shared was posted on the signs at the site, and he repeated stories of the cultural symbols many times. When we arrived at each temple he gave us "time to explore on our own" while other guides stayed with their tour group and shared details about each location. we learned more info by listening to other guides than our guide. We also would have liked more time in the park. The restaurant lunch provided was very good. overall, we felt the value based on the price for this private tour was below expectations.
