Great tour - Interesting and informative. Really appreciate the kindness and local perspective. Comfort and shopping stops were a nice touch. Learned a lot and had fun.

Small and beautiful town. - We loved it, everything is close to the cruise port and there are not many attractions: the old government house facing the sea (very nice and well kept), two small churches and the H.M. prison, it dates back to 1775 and is falling down (they are supposed to renovate it as Attraction), but it is worth visiting to know what prisons were like in those times, the lady who welcomes you is super friendly and says: "Welcome to the Queen's Prison," is so weird but super funny. Nice town.

Taste of Paradise in the BVI - We had a great time with "Shampoo" as our driver and guide. Being a native he was very knowledgeable of his island and was especially knowledgeable about the flora and plants we encountered in the Botanical Garden. We were able to indulge in the road side cafe experience and enjoyed their local cuisine "Chicken with Rice and Peas". Enjoyed the "Rum Distillery" and a piece of history. Wife enjoyed the taste of the "Panty Dropper" sample, so I quickly bought a bottle. Was glad our tour included an "Air Conditioned" vehicle and free bottles of water, as it was a hot day. Overall a great time and would recommend to anyone looking for a "Taste of Paradise in the BVI"

Beautiful Tortola - We really enjoyed our guided tour of Tortola. This was not the tour we had originally planned but was the only one with a pick up from our resort. We purposely chose a day when there were no cruise ships due in port which made the trip around the island peaceful. Unfortunately it was on a day when the Rum Factory and the Botanical Gardens were both closed but no problem as our excellent guide was more than capable of filling the gaps with other parts of the island not normally visited. The hour at Cane Garden Beach was just right, cocktails on the beach! A great day out, thanks to Paynes Taxis, again, not our original choice of tour but turned out perfect in the end.

Mountain roads - The itinerary was good and the guide was great. The van had air conditioning and the seats were comfortable. The issue, however, is with road safety. There were many narrow mountainous roads. The guide/driver had to hold a microphone in his hand, so driving with only one hand. The seat belts were not working because the buckle parts of the belts were missing.

Explore local Tortola! It's worth it. - Really enjoyed our tour with Historical and Beach Tour of Tortola BVI. Our driver, Vincent, was wonderful and knowledgeable about the island and its history. It was Boxing Day, (Dec. 26) and the Botanical Garden was closed, which was supposed to be a part of the trip, but we were able to spend more time at Cane Bay Beach instead. The Callwood Distillery tour was neat and very quick (it is quite small), since it is still done in the original method. The guide spoke so fast it was hard to understand him, but the samples of rum were diverse and enjoyable. Wonderful local people throughout this beautiful island. For a tour of actual island life, I would recommend this tour!

Disappointing - I wanted to love this tour, as Nick was an excellent driver and we learned so much about this island. They had asked we arrive at 8:45 am, but we didn’t leave until 9:30, as the owner hoped to book additional riders to fill the seats. They made up the time, but I found this disrespectful to those who had pre-booked and arrived on time. The planned stop at the gardens didn’t happen, as it was closed on a Saturday. For me, this was to be the highlight of the tour. Instead, we had 2 hours at the beach which we were not interested in. Tour was overpriced for what they provided in this open air vehicle.

Not what we expected... - At arrival we (14 pax) were put into a van, to hot, to tight, no possible exit and no seatbelts. Not relaxing at all. The guide was a nice guy but we could not hear him properly in the back. The tour was adjusted because of roadworks, can happen but no explenation of the route. The botanical garden was nice. The rum distillery was a joke. In a tiny room we tasted three of the rums and that was it. No tour, not how the rum is made. At the beach there were to many people but it was nice to be out of the van. Next time we'll just grab a taxi.

Very disappointing - The taxi driver was competent but inaudible & incomprehensible. The taxi contravened Health & Safety as there were no working seatbelts, stained & tatty seats, far too small & squashed for 14 people. Of a 4 hour trip we spent nearly half of it cooped up in a hot over stuffed taxi with poor a/c, retracing routes when a road was closed- obviously no pre - checking of route. Overall poor.
