Shame on Viator - I booked a 10 AM combo Classic Whale & Puffin watching tour. I took a picture of the posted departure schedule after learning at approximately 9AM that our whale watching was cancelled. The classic whale at 9, 13, 17, 21 and all 5 RIB Xpress whale were on schedule, only the 10 & 14 classic were cancelled. We saw the 9 AM depart and were told the 10 (only one hour later) and 14 were canceled due to rough seas. How could all five RIB Xpress boats be allowed out in rough seas and only two classic whale boats at intermittent times be cancelled? I was told by Specialty Tours, the tour operator, that no time was assigned to our puffin tour, so there was no reservation. Specialty tours claimed no responsibility for anything since Viator booked our reservation with a third party, Sailors Reykjavik, who Specialty Tours felt should be held responsible, We could not be accommodated in a timely manner by Specialty Tours since we were on a cruise ship departing that afternoon. We were told that we could possibly make a late afternoon whale watching but all puffin tours were sold out. A very disappointing experience with Viator!
