Always, Always - Always, always book a hop on hop off excursion when visiting a new city. Good information for the key local attractions.

Ms. Washington - Accessible and a great way to see the city. It was affordable and easy to book. Wish it ran later than 430.

Don't get off! - Last stop #16 Reagan and Gorbachov summit to end cold war was signed there. House is locked up! Little to do and no shelter. It would have been appreciated to know in advance that a picture from bus would be sufficient

I like Hop on hop off but had mixed feelings about this - Hop on hop off is a great inexpensive way to see a city. The one in Reykjavik has 16 stops total. I had planned on stopping at many but ended up with just two. The buses are fairly regular but at times there are off by up to 15 minutes which creates confusion. I was stuck at stop 12 which was supposed to be Shopping center but there was no such thing there. Nothing to do, just wait for the next bus. It was a total waste of my time. Why do they even have this stop? When the bus did arrive it almost didn’t stop even though I was standing exactly at the red sign and even signaled the driver. I had already waited for 35 minutes and I was afraid that I may have to wait another half hour. I ran toward it, until it came to a stop. It was a very unpleasant experience. Many times the bus stopped either way before or way after the red sign which made it difficult to know which stop I was at. I saw people getting off long before the sign at times and at times long after. I would like the bus to stop right where the sign is unless the road was blocked due to construction. I would like the driver to announce the stop every time. The headphones didn’t work so I didn’t use them. At BSI during my first round the bus didn’t start on schedule. It was 15 minutes later than what the schedule showed. It created mismatch for the next bus time and confusion for me. I did two rounds and yet I was able to see only two places. That was very disappointing. I would recommend buying a 48 hours ticket instead of the 24 hour one which I purchased, I would have liked to visit some museums but there was not enough time. I did get a general idea of the city. If I visit again, I may use it better. It is good to have hop on/off but it needs to be managed better by the operator and the customer.

Good way to see the city and neighborhoods - One of my favorite things to do while traveling is tour the area on a bus. I stayed on for the full experience then walked around sites I wanted to visit more. The headphones worked well and the drivers were helpful. I thought prices were fair.

Good way to see the city - The hop on hop off bus in Reykjavik is a good way to see the major sites I bought the 24 hour ticket. There is only one route because Reykjavik is a small city and I felt that it was overpriced for what it had to offer.

We missed 2 buses because... - We missed 2 buses because they were full. Then another didn’t show up for 45 minutes and we had to walk to our next destination. The ride was good the one time we were able to catch a bus

Very poor experience - We have done Hop On Hop Off busses around the world, including cities that have many Møre tourists than Reykjavik, but today’s experience with the City Sightseeing Hop On Hop Off service was the least pleasant that we have had. In a nutshell, (some) drivers were incompetent, others rude and the company simply didn’t cope with the number of cruise ships in port today. There were two large (Princess & MSC) one mid (Viking) and one small (SH Diana) - all of these visits planned & announced many, many months in advance. To then blame that for removing passengers from buses - due to overcrowding is simply unprofessional and frankly pathetic. Multiple times at multiple stops passengers were refused access to busses due to overcrowding. The company that runs these buses also operates other bus services in Reykjavik but I saw no evidence of additional resources being applied. The attitude and actions of one particular driver who took over driving duties at the bus station stop in the early afternoon was frankly disgusting. At a cost of AU$135 for 2x 24 hour tickets I expect a far better and more professional service.
