Very successful tour and definitely recommended! - A perfectly organized tour with very knowledgeable guides who could answer all questions. In addition, it is a great experience if you can make and enjoy tortillas yourself (with professional help)! Cool water is distributed for free and is abundant!

Great history and culture tour! - What a great way to experience culture and learn some history! Our tour guide Edder did a great job of making us feel welcomed and was excellent at sharing the historical information with us! Can't forget to mention our driver Pedro who got us to our destinations at record speeds. lol Edder was very knowledgeable about the Mayan history and people. He answered any questions that people had while on the tour. The visit to the ruins and to the Mayan family for lunch was great! The food was delicious and the family was super nice! Being able to make our own tortillas and eat them immediately after was cool! And if you're visiting via cruise ship, no worries, we were back to the port with plenty of time to walk around and shop!

A Great Experience. - Native Choice tour guide Edder did an amazing job looking after us, he is very knowledgeable and made us laugh a lot. The lunch cooked by the Mayan ladies was lovely and they are very welcoming, inviting us in to their home. We booked this instead of booking with our cruise operator and we paid less and got a much better experience by being in a small group. It’s also better for the local people and their economy. 10/10!

Fabulous excursion that supports local economy - The hubby and I visited Costa Maya via cruise ship. I had booked this excursion through Viator just by reading the great reviews. They were spot on! Don’t hesitate to book this tour with Native Choice. The vans are comfortable and air conditioned. Our guide, Edder, was fabulous! He spoke English very well and was extremely knowledgeable about the area, the temple ruins, and the Mayan culture. The drivers handed out bottles of cold water a couple of times during the day (they were much appreciated as it was so hot and humid). And the meal! Delicious! It was amazing to experience making tortillas by hand and then enjoying a great meal and dessert. We were so glad we chose this excursion and were thrilled to learn that the company is owned by Mayan descendants who are helping provide jobs for locals.

Edder was our guide and... - Edder was our guide and did a great job giving us the history of the area and Mayan people and then showing us Chacchoben. We had plenty of time there and then off to tortilla making and lunch that the amazing Mayan women prepared. Lunch was great and the flan was absolutely delicious! Excellent tour.

Making Memories on a Mother/Daughter Trip - My sisters and I, along with our daughters truly enjoyed the excursion to the Mayan Ruins. We heard the history of the area and the history of the Mayan temples. The most memorable part was having lunch with a Mayan family. The freshly made salsa was delicious as were the chicken, tamales, rice, black beans, and flan for dessert. Making a hand made corn tortilla was fun also. Our tour guide knew a lot about the history of the Mayans and about the geography of the area.

Wonderful experience, delicious food - Had ample time to see the ruins and get a little bit of history about them. The Mayan experience had delicious food, and it was quite eye opening to see the areas outside of the touristy Costa Maya. If it was truly authentic I can't say, but everyone was kind, polite and I felt very safe the entire time. Recommend for families and anyone looking to get a out-of-the-usual experience!
