Perth to Fitzgerald River National Park

Fitzgerald River National Park - By late afternoon, set up camp in Fitzgerald River National Park, one of Australia’s largest and most botanically significant parks, known for its rugged hinterland, coastal views, and over 1,800 unique plant species.
Today, travel approximately 600 km (10 hours) and camp at Fitzgerald River National Park, which offers toilet and shower facilities.
Fitzgerald River to Cape Le Grand National Park
East Mount Barren - Start the day with a refreshing hike up East Mt. Barren for stunning views.
Esperance - Follow the coastal route into Esperance, a renowned oceanic paradise. This area of Western Australia boasts no fewer than nine national parks, featuring some of the world’s best beaches. Enjoy some free time to explore the town and have lunch.
Lucky Bay - Then, drive along one of the most enchanting stretches of coastal road. Stop for a swim before heading further east to Cape Le Grand National Park. Set up camp where the bush meets the beach at Lucky Bay, your base for two nights. Spend the afternoon hiking, swimming in turquoise waters, or simply soaking up the tranquility.
Travel about 250 km today.
Cape Le Grand National Park
Cape Le Grand National Park - Sunrise is a special time here, and it’s when the friendly western grey kangaroos are most active. Stroll onto the beach to greet them before lacing up your hiking boots for one of the tour’s best hikes, climbing Frenchman Peak for panoramic views across Cape Le Grand and Recherche Archipelago. Spend the rest of the day exploring this incredible park. Traverse lush bushland, swim at stunning bays and coves, and learn about its rich flora and fauna.
Today, drive only 10 minutes, with walks ranging from 2-4 hours. Stay a second night in Cape Le Grand.
The Nullarbor
Norseman - Rise with the sun and hit the road. By nightfall, fall asleep under the starry outback skies of the Nullarbor. Along the way, stop at the quintessential outback town of Norseman for breakfast before traveling east on the Eyre Highway, experiencing Australia’s longest straight road, the 90 Mile Straight.
Nullarbor - Watch the ever-changing landscapes from your window as your guide shares the history and stories that make this land unique. Tonight, gaze at distant galaxies during a genuine bush camping experience on the Nullarbor.
Today’s driving time is about 10 hours, and tonight, bush camp on the Nullarbor (no facilities).
The Nullarbor and the Great Australian Bight
Nullarbor - Continue crossing the vast outback of the mighty Nullarbor.
Great Australian Bight - Keep your cameras ready for iconic photo opportunities at the famous camels, kangaroos, and wombats crossing road sign and the edge of Australia, where the outback dramatically meets the Southern Ocean. Stretching approximately 200 kilometers along the Great Australian Bight, Bunda Cliffs are the world’s longest continuous line of sea cliffs.
Further on, discover a piece of Australian history as you cross the Dingo Fence. At 5,614 kilometers, it is the world’s longest fence and marks the entry point to the Yalata Aboriginal lands.
Fowlers Bay - Finally, in the afternoon, arrive at Fowlers Bay.
Travel time today is about 7 hours, and camp at a site with toilets and showers.
Eyre Peninsula’s West Coast
Penong Windmill Museum - This morning, discover some pristine coastal sights before stopping at the Penong Windmill Museum to meet ‘Bruce’, the largest windmill in Australia.
Streaky Bay - Enjoy free time in Streaky Bay for lunch (own cost).
Woolshed Cave - Test your sandboarding skills on some massive dunes.
Baird Bay
Baird Bay - Prepare for a truly magical wildlife encounter today. Head out on a small boat into the calm waters of Baird Bay to Jones Island, home to a wild colony of Australian Sea Lions. Once moored, put on a snorkel and swim in the rock pools. Before long, curious and playful sea lions will likely come to take a closer look, twisting, twirling, and splashing around you. When you think this day couldn’t get any better, you may be joined by wild, magical bottlenose dolphins. It’s important to note these creatures are wild and are not fed or coerced in any way. This optional three-hour cruise is an outsourced adventure operated by Baird Bay Eco Tours and needs to be booked in advance.
Those who choose to stay on land will travel to Point Labatt Conservation Park, the only place on the mainland where you can see Australian seal pups playing and resting on the beach.

Elliston - After lunch, continue down the coast, stopping at Elliston for a short coastal drive, then onwards to set up camp at the picturesque Camp Nyroca.

Port Lincoln & Coffin Bay
Coffin Bay - After breakfast, take a short drive to Coffin Bay National Park, where you’ll have time to explore its pristine white sandy beaches. Enjoy some free time for lunch— we highly recommend Oyster HQ for a taste of the world-famous Coffin Bay oysters or other fresh Eyre Peninsula seafood.
Port Lincoln - This afternoon, arrive in Port Lincoln and be joined by proud Barngarla woman Emmalene Richardsto experience the beautiful coastal landscapes and cultural sites of significance around Port Lincoln / Galinyala. Hear stories of traditional fishing and cultural living passed down over tens of thousands of years as you gain a deeper understanding of the oldest living culture on Earth.
Mikkira Station - Later today, arrive at Mikkira Station Koala Sanctuary. This private property is home to the Eyre Peninsula’s only wild koala population and has lots of kangaroos and emus to spot.
Port Lincoln
Fishery Bay - Surfing is a way of life in Australia, so today, pull on a wetsuit for a two-hour learn-to-surf lesson. The turquoise and calm water of Fisheries Bay are the perfect place for beginners to perfect their skills. Those not wanting to surf will be able to relax on the beach or swim.
Port Lincoln - The National Trust of South Australia cares for the world’s natural and built heritage and relies on the support of volunteers to protect and preserve special places. So, this afternoon after lunch, roll up your sleeves for three hours of conservation volunteering at Brinkworth Reserve. Our activity depends on the time of year but could involve collecting seeds, weeding, or planting trees whilst learning from their passionate volunteers.
Mikkira Station - Head back to camp to relax and enjoy dinner.

Port Lincoln to Adelaide
Wallaroo - Arrive at Lucky Bay to check in for our ferry, which will set sail across the Spencer Gulf towards Wallaroo on the Yorke Peninsula at 12 pm. Grab a coffee at the onboard café, relax, and enjoy the two-and-a-half-hour cruise across the gulf.
Adelaide Central Bus Station Toilets - On disembarking in Wallaroo, jump back on the bus for our last stint into Adelaide, where you will arrive around 6 pm.
