Fun and delicious! - My husband and I really enjoyed the Macaron Bakery Class at Galeries Lafayette. We took the adult class in English and met other folks from the US and around the world. The instructor was knowledgeable and very entertaining. Because it would take 5 hours to make macarons from start to finish, this class was part demonstration and part hands-on. The instructor demonstrated the technique to make the macarons themselves, and patiently stopped for questions along the way. We then each had a chance to try our hand piping the meringue onto a baking sheet to get the feel for how to handle the mixture. At this point, the macarons need to set for an hour prior to baking, so the instructor switched them out with a batch that had been pre-baked for the class. We then returned from the demonstration table to our seats, where we had the tools and ingredients to individually prepare chocolate ganache and pistachio filling and pipe them onto the pre-baked macarons. Typically you would want to refrigerate them for 3 hours before eating, but warm chocolate ganache is pretty good, too! We were given little pastry boxes to take our macarons with us as well as recipe cards. Everyone made 4 macarons. I've taken many cooking classes, and enjoyed this one thoroughly. Can't wait to try out the techniques at home.

Amazing class not great directions to the venue - Our pastry chef Marie was amazing. Her English was very good and she was patient and kind. The macarons were delicious and we left with the recipe as well. Can’t wait to try it at home.
The only negative was knowing where to go. Giving the address was enough. It should have said go to the 3 rd floor and to the back of the women’s clothing section.

We only got to watch her... - We only got to watch her mix the batter used for the macron. We then got to use a piping bag and put 2 or 4 in a parchment.
Wish we could have done more.
We did get to make a pistachio and a chocolate ganache and then fill in previously made shells.
Each person gets 4 macrons.
Not very exciting.

We didn't bake anything - We didn't cook anything. The chef was nice but stated her English wasn't that good. She basically read to us the recipe.

It was ok, but more of a demonstration than a class, a lot of waiting around and very little hands on baking. - We were told to be there 15 mins before, but no one appeared until just after the start time. Lots of waiting around, fairly unengaging instructor. They demonstrated how to make them, all we got to do was make a bit of a butter icing to stick pre-made macarons together. Tasted nice enough but felt a bit of a waste of time and money.

I queried with Viator and... - I queried with Viator and they said they can accommodate for vegans, but they cannot!
We did not do much in the class only whisked and piped. Expected to do much more!

Disappointed - They changed the time from 5pm to 4pm and kept us waiting 10 minutes. So we did not get started till 4:15pm We asked for a class in English and it was not so we left. Overall disappointing and a disaster
