Walking Through Time Beneath the Trees - This Garden District walking tour was both charming and insightful, thanks to our guide, Karen. Her sense of humor and deep knowledge of the area’s architecture, history, and natural beauty made every stop engaging. She brought the stories of the homes to life—explaining everything like the differences between wrought iron and cast iron fences! Karen also shared how enslaved people were essential not only in building these grand homes but also in running and maintaining them, offering a powerful reminder of the lives and labor behind the beauty. The tour thoughtfully connected the past to the present with stops at two of Anne Rice’s homes, Nicolas Cage’s former property, and the house featured in American Horror Story.  These moments gave the tour a pop culture twist while grounding it in important historical context. This Garden District tour is perfect for those who love architecture, history, or just want a deeper look into one of New Orleans' most elegant neighborhoods. Highly recommend!

New Orleans Highlights of the Garden District Walking Tour (Honest Review) - It was a great guided tour of some of the history of the Garden District. Karen (our guide) covered architecture, TV & movie filming locations, family homes, and natural history. We enjoyed it more than we thought we would. Karen was a great guide and funny, considerate, and kept my wife and I heavily engaged,

Fun and informative - Our guide Karen was full of fun facts and historical information. It was just what we hoped for on our garden district tour. She spoke clearly and loudly so all could hear. The day was hot but she made sure we always stood in the shade of the trees when we stopped to look.

Must-do if You Love Architecture and History - Bonnie was a gracious and knowledgeable tour guide. I was visiting NOLA with some gfs. We love history and architecture. Out of all the tours during my research, this one was limited to a small group. Bonnie came prepared with fans and ponchos for us, if needed. Mid tour we saw two young boys selling lemonade outside of one of the lovely homes. In need of a respite, Bonnie kindly and thoughtfully bought us lemonade. We also contributed to this young business as well. At the end of the tour, Bonnie gave each tour member a little memento, a mardi gras mask. Would highly recommend this tour.

Perfect Afternoon Tour—Culture, History, and Local Insight - A great afternoon with Dannal. She provided lovely insight into the area, history, culture, and even entertainment. I didn't know the diversity of New Orleans until this tour. I appreciate tours like this. With a mid-point water and bathroom break, this tour is just the right length and distance. Although the tour can be up to 14 people, ours was a delightful five person group with just the right questions and conversation.

A wonderful tour group - This is a great small business that does a fabulous job with their tours! Our guide was Bonnie. She was so informative about the architecture and history of the garden district. She made sure she got to know each of us individually and she helped us with our plans for the rest of our trip. The tour is perfectly planned with a stop midway for a bathroom break and to pick up drinks/snacks. I couldn’t have had a more enjoyable morning!

Great tour - Dannel was the perfect guide - I’d heard about this company on the Beyond Bourbon Street podcast. It was a very hot and humid day, but the 10:30 start time made a lot of sense as it was finished before the hottest part of the day. Dannel gave us a good description of what to expect, when the next bathroom break would be, and had ponchos in case of rain. The tour itself was a great balance of architecture, history, and pop culture. She tied it all together with good stories and some fun info about celebrities’ homes and movie and TV shooting locations. I loved the small group size (we had 8 people), and she said they try to keep it small. We walked a total of about a mile over two hours with a break in the A/C in the middle. There was good text communication before the tour. We also stuck to the shade (when there was some - she parked us in the shade whenever she could - but still advise sunscreen, long sleeves, hats, light colors, sun umbrellas, and plenty of water). A great tour with a coffee shop at the beginning and the middle. Thank you, Dannel and Two Chicks!
