Highly recommend - If you’re looking to explore a side of New Orleans beyond the usual tourist spots, this walking tour of the Carrollton neighborhood is a must—and Emily is the guide who makes it truly unforgettable. From the start, Emily impressed us with her deep knowledge and passion for the area. She blended history, architecture, and personal stories in a way that made the neighborhood come alive. Each stop—from historic homes to the charming streetcar line—felt meaningful, thanks to her storytelling.

Which had more character, the neighborhood or the guide? - What a fun experience in The Big Easy! Away from the crowds and seediness of the French Quarter is an architectural dream neighborhood, and a very charismatic lady to tell you all about it. Our guide, Emily, was fun, knowledgeable, and had an obvious love for the area. She showed us different styles of homes and told beautiful stories of the people who inhabited them and the influence they had on the community. From Germans, Cajuns, and the free and enslaved people of color, Emily brought their history and homes to life. I highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to know more about the last neighborhood to join New Orleans proper, or just wants to hang out with an interesting and intelligent Carrolltonian! Wow! Everyone needs to take this tour. - I lived in the Carrollton neighborhood for 5 years and never know its' very interesting history. Emily was extremely knowledgeable and gave historical information on many of the houses and properties and how the Carrollton came to be. She knew important details about the architecture of two of the houses which were right next door to where I lived! Emily is very engaging, and her tour makes Carrollton come alive with her stories of previous residents and I saw my old hood through an entirely different prospective. I highly recommend this tour to locals and visiting tourists.

Excellent tour of underappreciated neighborhood - This was an excellent tour of a part of New Orleans that doesn't get so many tourists. We learned so much, even though we used to live in this neighborhood. Would highly recommend for people interested in the less well known parts of New Orleans' history.

Great Carrollton Walking Tour with Emily - We really enjoyed the Carrollton Walking Tour with Emily. She is a Carrollton native, historian and has lots of funny stories. We loved the portrait of daily life that she painted of the early days of Carrollton. She has a natural ability to connect the past to present. Loved her tour.
