Excellent Food Tour - One of the best food tours we've ever done. Ken was an excellent guide. This tour was paced really well, so even though we tried lots of different foods, we didn't leave feeling too full. We tried things we never expected to have and learned a lot about the culinary history of Japan. The food was delicious and we got to meet some really amazing local business owners. Highly recommend.

Delightful Dining with Diana - Of all the tours in all the countries where we have been, this one tops them all! What made this tour so special was our lovely guide Diana. She went above and beyond to anticipate our every wish. At every stop on the tour she introduced us to the proprietors like we were her family. She was so knowledgeable and easy to understand . She even took us to the station and gave us directions back to our hotel. Diana will be a hard act to follow. She set the standard high. The company is lucky to have such a wonderful and knowledgeable person on their staff.

Easily the Best Tour of Our Trip - This was an unbelievable tour! Mairi was so knowledgeable and took us to so many different places, and she introduced us to all sorts of different people along the way. We were expecting maybe lunch and some snacks but this was truly a full day of eating and exploring, with tons of history and culture and discoveries along the way. We did a bunch of other food and cultural tours on this vacation and none compared to how much we got to do and see and learn on this one.

Unexpected tastes and insights - A well paced tour offering an introduction to both the customs and foods of Japan. Foods included extremely fresh sushi, takoyaki, and yakitori, amongst others.Michelle, our tour leader was more den mother than guide, adding an extra level of comfort. Take this tour: you won’t leave it disappointed. Or hungry.

Such a wonderful way to explore Kichijoji, taste a bunch of delicious food, and learn about Japan and the food history! - This food tour was definitely one of our highlights from our time in Tokyo! Not only did we get to try lots of great food, but the tour included little experiences like the miso tasting that were super informative and fun. The tour was perfectly paced and Michelle was such a great guide, so patient and informed! Looking forward to doing more Culinary Backstreets tours in the future!

Informative / Interesting and Fun - The guide we had, Ken, first and foremost. He had the knowledge of the history of the area and deep knowledge of the vendors / chefs and command of the language. I learned so much and discovered new information on the food and area.

Best Tokyo experience - What a wonderful experience and led by a truly excellent guide, Mairi. It was the best thing we did in Tokyo which included six hours in a non touristy neighbourhood of Tokyo which was great to see and savour in every sense. Mairi’s knowledge of the food and area made the tour memorable. Make sure you do this tour when you visit Tokyo.
