We meet right by Minamimorimachi Station, Exit 3. Just outside the exit, you will find a set of benches (as shown in the picture), and we'll gather there to start the tour. It is located right inside the covered shopping street Tenjinbashi-suji, just off Route 1, the wide avenue.

Umami Magic with Miyo - We had the pleasure of doing the Umami Town Street Food Tour with Miyo. Miyo was a fantastic tour guide weaving us through the streets of Osaka. She shared with us the rich food history of Osaka. Some of the memorable moments of the tour were the Gyoza, Mitsuki-Okonomiyaki and the Fish Monger Fukahiro. This tour is a must do for families, couples and or groups. Miyo makes sure that everyone is comfortable and insures a great time. You will definitely leaving feeling full of Umami Magic. Thank you very much Miyo!

No better way to eat your way around Osaka! - Culinary Backstreet tours are something else…the guides (Miyo!!) care deeply about your experience and the company holds an extremely high bar for tour value. This was our 13th tour with CB and it was so special…how did we end up with two other awesome couples and the sweetest and most curious Miyo?!? She took us to her favorite local spots for AMAZING bites, from the most spectacular gyoza to the freshest and creamiest salmon that we ate right with the fish monger. We ended the day with new friends, big smiles and full bellies. Thanks to Miyo for a wonderful day in Osaka!

Great food with a fantastic local guide - Everything about this tour was so meticulously planned out and seamless. Miyo pre-prepared the ordering of our first experience so we didn’t even have to wait in what would’ve been a very long line. We had reservations at each stop (or dined before the place was open) so there was no time wasted standing around.
The variety of food, the quantity and the quality was all great and as expected from any Culinary Backstreets tour. The food was also really well spaced out, and it wasn’t long between meals.
Our guide, Miyo, was so friendly and welcoming, and had a lot of knowledge to offer being a local to Osaka. We also walked through a few food stores and supermarkets to learn about produce local to the city.
We highly recommend this tour. Our group was small and Miyo made time to speak with everyone and to answer any questions we had.

Great food tour of Osaka! - This was an absolutely fantastic food tour of Osaka and would 100% recommend. Our host, Miyo was very knowledgeable and took us to some great places that we wouldn’t have found without her! There were so many places that I plan to go back and visit again.

Amazing tour guide to hidden gems! - Miyo did such a great job introducing us to Osaka’s culture and hidden gems. The tour, which lasted several hours, included all of Osaka’s signature dishes and stops at multiple, local restaurants. Miyo was friendly, organized, and very informative. One of the best tours we’ve done!!

A wonderful introduction to delicious Osaka - Osaka is known for great food but it’s hard to know where to start. Culinary Backstreets has created a nicely curated experience to introduce visitors to the delicious delights of Osaka cuisine. Every stop along the tour offered food of the very highest quality. Our guide was knowledgeable, thoughtful and thoroughly engaging.

A Personal Journey Through Osaka’s Food Scene - My wife and I had an unforgettable experience on this food tour. Miyo was a phenomenal host...warm, passionate, and deeply knowledgeable. Her love for Osaka’s food culture came through in every bite and every story.
You can find great food almost anywhere in Japan, that’s a given. But what makes this tour stand out is the depth and personal touch Miyo brings. With each stop, she shares not just what you’re eating, but why it matters. We learned about the story, science, and even the magic behind umami and the flavors that define Osaka. It made every bite more meaningful.
Miyo also has a unique ability to read the group and tailor the experience in the moment. Nothing felt scripted, yet everything felt intentional. And even after the tour ended, she kept that spirit going. When we mentioned our interest in Japanese whiskey, she recommended a hidden craft bar that became one of our favorite stops of the night. In a way, it felt like the tour never really ended.
We left with full bellies and memories just as rich.

Must do - Osaka Orientation - This is one of the best ways to get familiar with Osaka! Our tour was with Miyo and she did such a great job orientating us to what makes Osaka special compared to other places in Japan. We learned a lot, ate great food, and had special access to stores that opened especially for her.
Standouts from the tour were definitely the gyoza spot and going to a fish monger to try super fresh fish.
Miyo customized the tour a bit for us too so there is flexibility within the schedule which was so nice.
We would strongly recommend for anyone on their first few days in Osaka. Would also strongly recommend touring with Miyo - she is so friendly, warm, and knowledgeable. She clearly did her research to make it an unforgettable experience

Unforgettable umami-packed day - Miyo turned our tour into a warm, insider adventure. Her long standing friendship with the gyoza master, engaging talk on Japan’s food and history, the science of umami and the very thoughtful surprises along the tour turned this day into a memorable one. We loved having a Japanese guide who welcomed every question, and shared cultural nuances. Thoughtful, knowledgeable, and genuinely kind - I highly recommend booking with Miyo for an unforgettable taste of Osaka!
