Great tour of Lecce! - Max was a wonderful guide, who took us to the Jewish Museum, the amphitheater, and showed us some of the hidden gems of Lecce. We really enjoyed the tour as a great introduction to Lecce. Would highly recommend!

Afternoon in Lecce - We booked a group tour through GetYourGuide, luck would have it that on a warm afternoon in early July there was only us so it turned into a private tour. We spent two hours in the company of Luigi Leante, a nice and well-prepared guide who made us appreciate the beauties of the center of Lecce, including the underground part with what remains of the Jewish quarter. His anecdotes intrigued us and kept the attention high. Also very interesting is the visit of a workshop where a master of papier-mâché told us about the stages of processing. At the end of the tour we stopped first at “Golosità del Salento” to taste the taralli and the local wine, all delicious, and finally at “Syrbar” for a great Lecce coffee overlooking the Duomo. We recommend this experience to everyone!

A Tour full of surprises - Discovering Lecce with Luigi Leante is not only a guide; he is a narrator, a passionate scholar and an exceptional ambassador of his land. If you want to "rediscover" Lecce in an authentic and profound way, let Luigi guide you: I assure you that you will not regret it.

The Max - It was a peaceful walk through the beautiful city of Lecce. A combination of a calm and interesting explanation of our guide Max who was friendly and had the right amount of comedy. Ending with a tasting experience was the perfect apotheose of the tour.

Tour ok, avoid the recommended restaurant! - Tour was ok although it would have been nice to hear more of history and stories. Now it was more on the sights but not the context. Very dissapointed with the restaurant recommendation he gave to the group, La Cucina Mamma Elvira. The service there was absolutely terrible, the arrogance shown to me and other customers was appaling. Also, everyone had to wait and remind of diffenrent issues with no apologies. Had the worst meal in my two weeks in Puglia, by far.

No enthusiasm, nothing more than a basic five second Google search could have told me - Our guide Max was the most unenthusiastic, monotonous guide I have ever had. Our guide made a 1.5 hour tour, feel like 3 hours I did the tour with my family of 6. We were checking the time every five minutes, wondering when the tour was going to end. His explanations often only went as far as; "this is ... Church, built in the 17th century." We learnt minimal about the development and changes to the city of Lecce throughout the Centuries, nothing about modern day culture in Lecce, nothing about nightlife or even the way of life in Lecce. I can't even tell you the population of Lecce. Usually guides will introduce themselves and a bit about their history of work, where they grew up, their passions etc. before the tour starts... not Max. We didn't even get an overview of what the tour would cover, or an overview of the city of Lecce itself. It was one of those tours where they give you a headset and the guide has a microphone. Max kept walking on and wouldn't wait for the back markers to catch up before giving his brief explanation of what is in front of him. The group was small, only 15 or so. If he projected his voice and spoke with enough enthusiasm he wouldn't need the mic at all. When comparing Max to other guides I've had - guides who managed 30 people with no mic for three hours and held our attention the entire time - Max fell far short. We were left wondering what we paid for. I DO NOT RECOMMEND
