Old Buddies AchieveKilimanjaro Summit with Strong Support From Altezza Team - It was an incredible experience successfully climbing Kili with my longtime friend David Oliver! Our lead guide Amos and guide Jonas did an excellent job of preparing and assisting us to the Summit and the entire Altezza team was very supportive. It was truly ‘One team/one dream!’

Altezza sets the standard for Kili - Hard to imagine ways Altezza could have made this trip any better. The food was plentiful and delicious (I did not need snacks even though I would still recommend them), the crew was cheerful and supportive, the price was competitive. My group had hikers of varying skill levels and the crew was able to accommodate each of us perfectly. Honestly I struggle to find something just to nitpick. Highly recommend booking your Kilimanjaro hike through Altezza.

Altezza all the way! - My friend Ben and I had the incredible experience of climbing Mount Kilimanjaro with Altezza Travel, and I can't praise them enough. Months before we even arrived, we were able to communicate directly with our trip manager, Natalia, and she answered every single question we had in real time and was always available to help. This was deeply reassuring since there were plenty of uncertainties regarding our adventure. The trip itself was fantastic. From the moment we landed and were picked up to our drop off, the white glove service was outstanding. I could not say enough about Altezza. All of the guides were knowledgeable, kind and incredibly professional. We had the privilege of climbing with Stanley Minja, the current record holder for summits on Kilimanjaro. He was spectacular and a voice of calm and reason when many on our group were weary. I want to highlight one of our guides specifically, Emmanuel Issangya. I don’t think I ever caught Emmanuel not smiling and his vibe and passion were palpable. His deep knowledge of the flora and fauna, coupled with his ability to answer any question we threw at him, all while expressing enthusiasm and excitement about his job, made the journey educational and enjoyable. Immanuel's positive attitude was infectious and kept our spirits high even during the toughest parts of the climb. The entire Altezza Travel team exceeded our expectations. The food was fantastic, and the standards on the mountain were top-notch. From the quality of the equipment to the overall organization, everything was meticulously planned and executed. If anyone I know is considering climbing Kilimanjaro, I wouldn't hesitate for a second to recommend Altezza Travel. They made our adventure unforgettable!

Altezza - The peak of comfort and support. - The crew was absolutely incredible and supportive the whole way through. The porters at Altezza always had the camp set up and the food was always ready. The medical checks were very reassuring and our guides Kombe, Nelson, Urio, and more were all there to keep us healthy. James and Amri helped us with our bags on summit night and I am so grateful. Altezza is certainly the top ambassador and guiding company for Kilimanjaro. Thank you!

Trip of a lifetime with a fantastic team - We’re just about too leave the lodge after our 7 day climb of Kilimanjaro on the Machame route. This review is split into 2 parts pre/post climb and ‘the climb’ as it’s 2 very different aspects. I came to Tanzania with 2 friends and overall the warmth, professionalism and friendliness of the Tanazanian people cannot be overstated – they are incredibly hard working and dedicated and this started with our driver on the transfer from the airport. We arrived at the lodge for a day’s R&R before the climb. The greeting and service at the lodge was excellent; the staff were fully briefed on who we were and what we needed to prepare for setting off. Any issues./questions we had were quickly and professionally resolved all with a friendly smile, The lodge itself was of an excellent standard, far more luxurious than we anticipated; the bedrooms were spacious very clean, the beds were incredibly comfortable. And with everything we experienced in Tanzania, the staff were as good as you’ll find anywhere in the world. The lodge itself was great but the entire staff team make it even better. The climb could not have been better, our lead guide Abraham is incredibly experienced and has the respect not just of his team but every other guide/tour company we met on the mountain. Quite simply we could not have had a better guide. the second guide Isreal was also incredibly experienced despite being a lot younger and together the worked amazingly both on the trek and in the camp. What we also gained from these two amazing people was an insight into present day Tanzanian culture but also from a historical perspective as they were both very generous to share their knowledge; so we leaned a little of the Masai and Chagga (apologies if spelled incorrectly) peoples, along with how certain plants in the rainforest section had special significance within the culture. Without these two amazing people our experience in climbing Kilimanjaro would have been radically different and not for the better. I simply cannot think of any way this experience could have been bettered. You can teach mountain skills and guide skills but you can never teach the dignity, warmth of personality and positive attitude that Abraham and Isreal have. What was wonderful to see was how Abraham and Isreal were tutoring the next generation of guides whilst working on our trip. It was humbling to see the work ethic of people like Ali, Rama and Simon take on extra work beyond their already arduous workload to try and achieve the aim of becoming a guide. Under Abraham’s tutoring I’m confident they’ll all succeed. Their outlook and attitude set the tone for the rest of the team but they were able supported by an amazing team not just in terms of professionalism , but also work ethic and friendliness and generosity of spirit. Their hard work and dedication meant our climb was as easy as is possible, the camp was immaculate, always set up on time and a big reason for that is camp master Alex and his team – too many people to name individually but everyone contributed to an amazing experience. It obvious from the review that we had an unbelievable experience and I can highly recommend Altezza as a company that put the needs of their clients at the forefront. If you do book with them I urge you to try and specifically ask for Abraham and Isreal as your guides; with them you will have the best possible experience on Kilimanjaro

Unforgettable experience led by the best team ever - Absolutely incredible experience and could not recommend Altezza enough! The whole team were fantastic, from all the guides led by Joshua (big shout out to Regan who was amazing on summit night), the porters, the cooks, the waiters (shout out to Frank and Ernest) and big thank you to Maria who helped organise it all. Altezza thought of it all and the whole team were so friendly, hospitable and went above and beyond to make the whole experience brilliant and ultimately get us to the summit of Kilimanjaro! I could not recommend Altezza more to somebody thinking of doing Kilimanjaro!

Best Tour ever!!!!! - The Kilimanjaro expedition with Altezza has been the most incredible experience in our Life! The Altezza team was fantastic, so caring and just lovely! I have never had a better tour in my whole life. Apart from the incredible hike, the experience was only that amazing because of the Altezza staff. We felt pampered all the time and the guides were so caring about our health and well-being. We can definitely recommend Altezza and every Euro we spent was sooooo worth it! Thanks for everything!!!

The best outfitter for Kili! - I just completed the seven day Machame route and wanted to give a shout out to each Altezza Team member who made this journey unforgettable! Ten (10*) stars go to Vlada (Sales Manager at the HQ office) and Doris (Tour Manager at the hotel in Moshi). Vlada has been my rock for many months, answering countless questions and making sure I have all the right information needed. She e-held my hand and was invaluable when it came to preparation and successful onboarding. She offered suggestions and made certain accommodations to ensure I got all I needed prior to departure. Then came Doris, who greeted me at the hotel, offered help and gave orientation to ensure I am ready for the adventure. Moreover, she assisted with any unexpected requests I had (room, dinner, rentals, packing) and her professionalism as well as super friendly attitude made me feel very welcomed and taken care of! Then came the Guides: Under the exceptional leadership of Stanley Minja (a passionate dude who previously reached the summit 200 times, including a bike ride), all Guides made sure that I successfully completed the trek and summited Uhuru. I want to profoundly thank Stanley, Emanuel, Jonas, Beltram, Godfrey and Eric for all the support and encouragement as well as the help during the summit night - I could have not done it without you! Altezza is definitely the biggest employer in Moshi, hiring the best Staff and making sure the service is top quality. They have the best camping spots (far away from the entrance/exit, allowing quiet nights), the best food (our Chef should get a Michelin star, serving new dishes every day, and the best soups in the world), the best porters and servers (61 people made my tour possible), and last but not least, medically trained Guides who came through when needed (we had two emergencies that ended in a helicopter rescue). The whole Altezza Team worked very hard to ensure our experience exceeds our expectations. I even got a birthday cake, which was completely mind blowing, given we were above the clouds and they somehow pulled it off! In regards to the climb in general: To say the physical experience to the top was a challenge is a complete understatement. Having previously only been up to 14,000 ft, 19,340 ft was insane! Every day was demanding, with lots of distance to cover, rock scrambling and other obstacles. The elevation gain every day was intense but the Guides made sure we are taking it one step at the time. The “pole pole” pace was infuriating at first (I’m an experienced trekker so I felt we moved in a snail pace), but paid off at the end when climbing up to the summit required everyone to slow down and be humble. The Guides acted as guardian angels on the summit night - they put clothes on us, fed us, gave us water, held our hands all the way to the top, while everyone was fighting the altitude sickness, unable to take care of themselves. I was feeling great day 1-5, but was totally out of it on day 6, throwing up and having difficulty breathing when summiting - each Guide helped me at one point, and the porter (Nickson Isaria) carried my backpack which helped tremendously. I stood at the summit grateful for all of them and can highly recommend Altezza as the best outfitter in Tanzania. Was there anything that didn’t go well? Absolutely! There were several things that could use improvement and I shared my thoughts with Altezza team separately. But what you need to keep in mind is the perspective. This is a huge expedition and what matters is the big picture, not the small stuff. This is a very mentally challenging trek. The mountain brought the worse in me: I went from mental state of uncontrolled happiness to deep sadness, darkest anxiety and pure anger (I even yelled at the Guide). I cried being happy, I cried being scared. That being said, if there were things that weren’t perfect, I understand. And I trust Altezza will address them. What matters most is that all 14 of us summited and returned home safe & sound, hence the 5 star review. I would sign up again!

Kilimanjaro - Machame Seven-days - Summited at 8:25 a.m. on June 30, we embarked on the seven-day Machame Route with Altezza. It was AMAZING!!! A special thanks to Joshua NNKO and his team, whose extensive experience and unwavering support made us feel at home throughout the journey. Their profound knowledge of the mountain undoubtedly made a significant difference in our adventure. I highly recommend Altezza for anyone considering a Kilimanjaro trek!
