Highlights
  • National Monument (MONAS) - Monas, or the National Monument, stands as the iconic landmark of Jakarta. It reaches a height of 132 meters and is topped with 50 kilograms of gold. This monument symbolizes the spirit of the Indonesian people’s struggle for independence. It is situated at Merdeka Square (Independence Square), surrounded by government buildings, the presidential palace, Istiqlal Mosque, a train station, and Jakarta’s city hall.
  • Istiqlal Mosque - Istiqlal Mosque is the largest mosque in Southeast Asia. This grand mosque of Indonesia was initiated by the first president, Sukarno, and completed in 1978 during the tenure of the second president, Suharto. The mosque represents Indonesia as the country with the largest Muslim population in the world. During the tour, we will not enter the mosque but will stop for photos from the front.
  • Jakarta Old Town - A reminder of Batavia, Jakarta’s old town, known as Kota Tua, features Dutch buildings and history. Here, we will walk along the canal, enjoy the square (Stadhuis), which served as the old city hall of Jakarta, and have a drink at Cafe Batavia.
  • Jakarta Cathedral - Located opposite the Istiqlal Mosque, this church was built during the colonial era in an Art Deco style with European architecture. The proximity of the cathedral and the mosque symbolizes the unity in diversity of Indonesia. We will stop here for photos only.
  • Glodok Chinatown - Visit the oldest Chinese temple in Jakarta, explore the wet market, and take a walking tour to see the Chinese market.
  • Pecenongan Night Market - Experience one of Jakarta’s most popular night markets, offering a wide variety of popular street food, extreme food, and traditional Indonesian dishes.
