Get the word from Aidan - yay !! - A great insight into The Clash and Joe Strummer, from a man who knows his stuff and his (and The Clash’s) Ladbroke Grove patch intimately.
Aidan is a chatty, informative, amiable bloke who takes you back to pre-Clash days and the pub-rock venues where The 101ers played, the squats, recording studio (Basing Street), and other sights, such as the Westway and the location of the 1976 Notting Hill carnival riots, as pictured on the back of the debut album.
There are plenty of details you won’t know, even if you’re a massive Clash fan, and you’ll also learn a lot about the Grove’s history and culture - and how Aidan himself fits in to it ! Plenty of info on other bands and singers too.
The man can rattle away with his knowledge, anecdotes and reminiscences, but boy do you get your money’s worth !! Highly recommended.

Brilliant for old ( or new) Clash Fans - Superb tour from Joes 101ers (pre Clash band,) through to visiting actual locations of classic Clash photographs and where the riots of the late 70s took place. Some urban Clash myths corrected too ! Aidan, the tour guide, was ACTUALLY there at the time and his local knowledge and experiences make this an authentic tour of ‘The only band that matters .’

Unique experience to live the neighbourhood where The Clash and Strummer started their story - Great experience to walk the streets and hear about the stories of not just a great artist, Strummer, and a great band, The Clash, but of a whole neighbourhood, its working class immigrant inhabitants, their struggle and vitality, the young hippies and later punk enthusiasts, the squatting, the pubs and what's left of all this.
Aidan is a great, funny, welcoming person, and most of all is someone whose love and knowledge for music and history makes you feel a connection with places and people that seem impossible to see in todays London (sadly!).
Really recommended!

Entertaining and informative tour - My husband and I took a private Strummer Walk tour on a Friday morning. Aidan does a great job at painting the picture of the hippie scene in working class Ladbroke Grove in the 70s as well as the effects of gentrification thereafter. I could just picture Joe and the 101ers wheeling their gear to the local pubs and rocking out. He grew up in the area and had a lot of great stories to tell about his own experiences in addition to stories about Joe, the Clash and other music industry players. He pointed out a lot of interesting landmarks and his colorful descriptions took us back to times that no longer exist. Thankfully we have Aiden to help keep Joe’s legacy alive!

The Grove and Joe Strummer - told with great attention to detail - Aidan is pure punk. The tour has brought us closer to Joe, the 101ers and The Clash in so many different and personal ways. From the Riots at the Grove to the pubs that were Joe's home and inspiration. Tausend Dank, Aidan. It couldn't be more authentic and loving. R.I.P Joe - the Future is unwritten.

Loved it (and I’m not even a real Clash fan!) - Had a cracking day yesterday walking around Joe Strummer and the Clash’s old stomping ground. Aiden certainly knows the area and certainly knows his subject.
He’s a fan but not a fanboy and slags the Clash when they deserve a slagging but does it all with enthusiasm and humour.
Well worth the money and an enjoyable day.
