Treking trip to Machu Pichu Feb 2026 - The very best way to visit machu pichu and experience a marvellous 2 hour long downhill cycle ride dropping nearly 2000m over 40 km on day 1 followed by a unique experience of jungle trekking. on day 2 with a relaxing dip in thermal pools. It is cold at the start of cycle run but after that warm for whole trip. Trekking fairly relaxed, and suitable for anyone with some trekking experience with a 4 hour flat walk from hidroelectrica to aguas calientes along train tracks on day 3. After taking USD$11 bus up and visiting machu pichu at 7.00 am on day 4 we then walked down a great number of steps from machu pichu back to railway tracks. The walk along the tracks to hidroelectrica did feel long but ok. Took us nearly 4 hours from machu pichu to hidroelectrica. It rained on the walks along train tracks so pocho essential in rainy season. Also put your backpack contents into a plastic bag. inside your backpack. Watertight boots or trekking shoes essential. The second day we were able to forward on one backpack to next hostal for 10 soles. We were also able to take as much as we could out of our backpacks and place nto a large plastic we took with us and leave at a restaurant in hidroelectrics till next day. That was unexpected but a great help to lighten backpacks. The minivan back from hidelectric to Cusco was fine. About 6-7 hours. Arrived 21:30. If you upgrade to train for $80 each you save the walk alomg the train tracks and arrive a couple of hours earlier. Our guide Fernando had loads of local knowlege as he is from the Cusco area. We communicated in Spanish, not sure how it would be in English. I expect just fine. The hostals and meals were basic but just fine. We had a privare room for two each night. Water can be puchased easily en route but prices range from 1 to 7 soles a bottle. Aguas Calientes is an expensive place but has an extraordinary backdrop with a rapid moving jungle river passing through.

Amazing Experience – Highly Recommend Reserv Cusco - I had an amazing experience doing the 4-day Inca Jungle Trek in Peru with Reserv Cusco and couldn’t recommend them more. Our local guide, Gerson, was a genuinely cool and kind person. He was extremely knowledgeable about the area and local history, which really brought the whole journey to life and made the experience so much more meaningful. One of the absolute highlights was biking down the mountain — it was incredible, truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience that I would do again in a heartbeat. The white-water rafting was also a huge thrill and a perfect way to cool off from the heat while adding some adventure to the trek. I really appreciated that all accommodation and food along the route were included, as it made everything so easy and stress-free. The food was delicious throughout the trip, and the places we stayed were authentic, welcoming, and comfortable. Booking the trip with Arturo was also a great experience. He was super friendly, informative, and always happy to answer any questions or concerns in great detail, which made the whole process feel trustworthy and smooth from the start. Overall, the trip was amazing and I’m really glad I booked with Reserv Cusco. I’d happily recommend them to anyone considering the Inca Jungle Trek.

Great experience i would recommend it - Everything was good and clear. The organization was very helpful. He even reserved a hostel for me to stay in in Cusco. I had a great time at the inca trail. I learned a lot about the incas and the walk isn’t that hard.

An amazing experience…. - We went on the Inca Jungle Trail. Very well organised. Good communication throughout from Arturo. Our guide, John, looked after us well and was knowledgeable about the trails we were walking. He was friendly, caring and professional. Steven our Machu Picchu guide was so knowledgeable and made me want to find out more about the Inca and wider Peruvian history. Biking was so much fun. Bikes were well maintained and full safety gear provided. First day of hiking was hard but such an achievement to complete. Amazing views, narrow paths, sheer drops but I felt safe under John's guidance. We got to make our own coffee from bean to cup in the middle of the jungle the traditional way. The thermal springs at Cocolmayo were a lovely relaxing way to finish the day. We walked up to Machu Picchu and back, rather than taking the bus, so decided to stay an extra night in Aguas Calientes (otherwise we would have had to walk another 11km to the bus) - Arturo was able to change the day of our bus return to Cusco with no problem. Accommodation was good. Food was plentiful and nourishing. For extra money on this tour you can raft, zip line, take the bus to Machu Picchu, get the train back to Cusco etc - so it can cater for all needs. Take small change for tips along the way. I would thoroughly recommend Reserv Cusco
