Set in the charming town of Bridgewater in the rambling scenery of the Adelaide Hills, this old mill dates back to 1860 when it was built by John Dunn, a mill engineer from Devonshire. He built a number of flour mills throughout Australia, but the Bridgewater Mill is by far his most famous.
Situated on Mount Barker Road, the mill boasts an impressive working waterwheel which was built back in the mid 1800s. Dunn chose this particular spot for the mill because it was a prime hotspot for catching traffic that passed through the area.
In 1986, the mill was bought by a consortium that renovated it and integrated an award-winning winery into the building: Petaluma wines. Today, it is both a popular restaurant and a wine cellar, drawing in crowds looking for cultural pursuits in the Adelaide area.

A great day out on the Murray River with new friends - Phil was a great guide, very knowledgeable about the area, a capable and safe driver. He was engaging and went out of his way to ensure we had an enjoyable day. He suggested other tours and places of interest. We would use your company again!

Lovely day! - Thoroughly enjoyed our day. The Murray River cruise part was enjoyable, but not spectacular. They served a great lunch and were very personable all round. We travelled in a small group (4) in a super comfortable van with Roy as driver. He was an excellent guide being both funny and flexible to accommodate his guests. We were his absolute focus. Met some lovely people on the day - just a shame we live on opposite sides of the Continent. Thoroughly recommend!

Days out at the Murray River for a memorable cruise. - Our guide and driver for the day, Hailey, was a thorough professional with good knowledge of the region. The river cruise was comfortable and smooth. Lunch options were enough and the portions served were huge. Overall a satisfactory days outing.

Very pleasant day out - Enjoyed the day very much. The 3 hour paddle steamer ride along the Murray River was very relaxing Delicious 2 course lunch on board with plenty of options to choose from.We had a quick stop at Mt Lofty on the way to the cruise and a quick look through the Beerenberg factory. After the cruise we had approximately an hour in Handouf. It was a really nice day spent in a very pretty area of South Australia. My only niggle was our driver Alan had a real thing about seatbelts.I understand this is the law and am happy to comply, however he was a real Hitler about it.We had barely sat in our seats and he was on our case about it,made us feel a bit on edge.Apart from that a very nice day.Thank you very much.

Lovely day out - The cruise was lovely so glad we did it and it helped being a perfect day the only thing that was disappointing was the lunch by the time we were served our meal (there were 5 of us at the table) it was cold, fish and chips served cold isn't very nice, such a shame because the day was lovely otherwise.

Expensive for what it was - Was disappointing for the cost. The food was dreadful, I ordered grilled fish and chips which was cold. The journey along the river was not particularly interesting. Staff were all very pleasant.

Weird experience - Weird experience. Like travelling back to early 20th century. The boat needs serious renovation. Wouldn’t recommend it. Waste of money and a day.
