  • Whispering Wall - Built between 1899 and 1903 the Whispering Wall is part of the dam wall located in the Barossa Reservoir Reserve and is known for its unique acoustic effects. Words whispered at one side can be clearly heard at the other, more than 100 metres away.

Barossa Reservoir Reserve is a popular tourist destination north of Adelaide, and just an hour’s drive from the city centre. The reservoir is close to Williamstown and Gawler, just south of the Barossa Valley, making it a great day trip from Adelaide. Pack a picnic and think of a secret to whisper!

  • Melba’s Chocolate & Confectionery - Melba’s Chocolate Factory is a ‘working’ tourism factory located in a heritage listed complex 40 minutes from Adelaide at Woodside in the Adelaide Hills.

From 1919 the South Australian Farmers’ Cooperative Union made the site famous by producing cheese, butter, margarine and small goods, which were recognised worldwide. This activity ceased in 1976. From 1991, with 1940’s era chocolate and confectionery making equipment, the current owners began their dream making old Australian favourite chocolate and confectionery.

Visitors today find the old cheese factory transformed into a large emporium-style confectionery factory shop. This is a centrepiece for five different rooms, where various manufacturing processes can be viewed. These are the Chocolate Room, Depositing Room, Packing Room, Panning Room and Toffee Room.

  • Woodside Cheese Wrights - Missing your cheese fix?
Welcome to our “ready to go” cheese bags. We understand that our cheese lovers see cheese as an essential food so we’ve put together a range of cheeses in our signature cooler bags which you get to keep. Orders that are placed before 12pm will be ready for pick up from midday the next day.

Woodside Cheese Wrights have produced a range of high quality and award-winning cheeses at their Adelaide Hills facility since 1994. Their sophisticated range of cow and goat milk cheeses are made by directly sourcing milk from small local dairies, providing them with excellent control of milk quality.

Woodside Cheese Wrights are true to the word artisan, crafting all of their cheeses by hand. Some of their cheeses are seasonal and are only made when the milk is perfect for each cheese style.

  • Hahndorf - Hahndorf is a small town in South Australia. Settled by 19th-century Lutheran migrants, it’s known for its original German-style architecture and artisanal food. Hahndorf Academy is home to the German Migration Museum, tracing local history.
Here you will enjoy a stroll and free time to explore.

  • Beerenberg Farm - The Beerenberg Family Farm is a “must visit” for all food lovers visiting the Adelaide Hills. One of Australia’s oldest family-owned jam, condiment and sauce producers, it is still run by the sixth generation of the Paech family.

  • Mount Lofty Summit - Mount Lofty Summit, the majestic peak of the Mount Lofty Ranges in the Adelaide Hills, provides spectacular panoramic views across Adelaide’s city skyline to the coast. Each year more than 350,000 people visit the peak which rises more than 710 metres above sea level.

From the summit you can follow the popular walk down to Waterfall Gully, join the Heysen Trail or stroll along a walking trail through native bushland to Cleland Wildlife Park.

Visit the Mount Lofty Summit Visitor Information Outlet and Gift Shop and speak to our friendly tourism experts about your next South Australian adventure. Get the latest maps and walking trail advice, and browse the exceptional range of quality souvenirs, locally produced gifts and a great range of clothing.

A memorable tour - One couldn’t ask for a better tour experience. What made the tour so memorable was the driver/tour guide, Roy. In addition to supplying information about the history of the area, there were many opportunities for outbursts of absolute frivolity. A great day was had by all.

Wonderful day exploring the Barossa Valley and Hahndorf - Visiting the Barossa Valley, Adelaide Hills and Hahndorf on a day trip with Roy is not to be missed! Roy was a fantastic driver/guide and absolutely hilarious! A really, really nice guy who clearly loves his role, he made sure our day was full of fun. I especially appreciated how flexible he was in adjusting the timings and visits to suit those of us on the tour. Lunch at the German Spoon in Hahndorf was included and was excellent. Not the usual institutional style catering that is often provided on organized tours! This was a quality restaurant with fresh, well cooked food and we could choose from an extensive menu. This is something that sets CP Tours apart from others. If you book a tour, cross your fingers that you'll get Roy! You won't be disappointed. He's the best!

The Enchanting, Calming & Beautiful Barossa - Barossa region was well worth a visit. My friend and I made a second trip to experience high tea at the Chateau Barossa. Beautiful countryside, wineries and weather. Our tour driver Roy was a lot of fun and kept us entertained throughout the day. A great story joke teller with a marvellous sense of humour.
