This National Historic District features beautifully preserved buildings that house a variety of unique shops and a diverse culinary scene. Throughout the year, the village is enlivened by vibrant festivals and live music, offering a warm welcome and unforgettable experiences for those exploring the Northern Kentucky and Cincinnati area.
• Goose Girl Fountain - The Northern Kentucky Convention and Visitor’s Bureau commissioned renowned Greek sculptor Eleftherios Karkadoulias to create this piece. Using his daughter as a model, he spent over a year and a half crafting the Goose Girl using the “lost wax” method. The fountain was erected and unveiled in October 1980. The Goose Girl fairy tale by the Brothers Grimm inspired the theme, reflecting the area’s cultural heritage.
• George Steinford Park - George Steinford Park, also known as the Sixth Street Promenade, is a wide promenade dividing West 6th Street that serves as the hub of outdoor activity in MainStrasse Village. The lush tree canopy and vibrancy from nearby restaurants and retail establishments create an exciting and picturesque setting for events and is a perfect spot for individuals to stroll with friends or walk their dogs.
• Cock & Bull Public House MainStrasse Village - Cock & Bull is a cherished stop on the MainStrasse Food Tour. Guests can enjoy a 5-ounce pour from a selection of local beers on tap and savor a German-style pretzel with a beer cheese dip!
• Goebel Park - Goebel Park is renowned for its iconic German-style Carroll Chimes Clock Tower. Architect Addison Clipson was commissioned to design the tower and collaborated with partner Bill Batson. Completed in 1979, the tower was named in honor of then-Governor of Kentucky, Julian Carroll.
• Piper’s MainStrasse - Weather permitting, a visit to Piper’s Ice Cream Stand is essential. Piper’s offers an impressive selection of over 80 flavors and 100,000 unique blends of soft serve treats made from a traditional lactose-free soft serve recipe.
