- Taylors Mistake - Awaroa / Godley Head Walk - Your guide will pick you up from your hotel and transport you to Taylors Mistake Beach, a beautiful black sand surf beach, with quaint little baches. There will be an opportunity to pick up hot drinks-to-go on the way. The drive is approximately 30 minutes. On arrival your guide will hand out…
- Taylors Mistake - Awaroa / Godley Head Walk - Your guide will pick you up from your hotel and transport you to Taylors Mistake Beach, a beautiful black sand surf beach, with quaint little baches. There will be an opportunity to pick up hot drinks-to-go on the way. The drive is approximately 30 minutes. On arrival your guide will hand out backpacks, walking poles, water bottles, snacks, and prepare you for the walk.
- Godley Head - The next 2.5 hours will be spent walking around Godley Head Loop Track, undoubtedly one of Christchurch’s most beautiful hikes. The track is undulating and well-maintained. Sights include Scott’s Hutt (an Antarctic Cabin), WW2 Gun emplacements, a penguin colony, and coastal views in all directions. You will return to Taylors Mistake with wonderful photos and memories of a great walk.

Godley Head is a beautiful coastal track with breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean and also Lyttelton Harbour. It includes historic landmarks from WW2, an Antarctic cabin, and quaint little beaches to boot. The loop track is 8km / 5 miles and takes around 2.5 hours to walk, including a rest stop.
If you are short on time, this half-day guided walk is a great option. Both morning and afternoon walks are available, see the highlights and be back in Christchurch in time for lunch or dinner.

Great hike - Absolutely lovely half-day outing, with Nicole as our guide. We enjoyed the views and commentary throughout. The optional detour through Boulder Bay was a real highlight.

Beautiful views and terrific guide! - Heidi was a fabulous guide for our stunning walk along the Godley Head Loop Track. She brought us a delicious picnic lunch that we enjoyed near the summit, and pointed out many interesting sights and geological features along the way. This was the perfect start to our two weeks in New Zealand!

Highly Recommended Half Day Walking Experience - My half day trek around part of the Banks Peninsula was a great experience. I did this with two other ladies. Our guide was Nicole, and we were all so impressed with her knowledge of the area and the history. I would highly recommend exploring this extinct volcanic coastline to everyone visiting Christchurch. The scenery is stunning and a photographer's delight. Parts of the track are sometimes steep, but Nicole encouraged us to pace ourselves to walk comfortably. If I return to Christchurch, I'll be doing this again! I love my souvenir water bottle, and the little treats she had for us were delish! Thanks so much to Nicole who is a first class guide, with an obvious passion for this beautiful part of New Zealand.

Fabulous Scenic Walk - My husband and I had a fabulous walk around the Godly Crater Rim. Nicole gave us a bit of history, pointed out geological features, and was fun, encouraging, and patient, as I was the slowest walker. The views were magnificent, this walk is a must if you are visiting Christchurch.

A lovely afternoon in a beautiful setting with a great guide - We had an absolutely lovely experience with Nicole and Crater Rim Walks and would recommend it to everyone else without hesitation. The planning was easy, communication in advance was very good, and our actual day was wonderful. Nicole was a fun and knowledgeable guide, and a kind and enjoyable person to spend a few hours with. The walk itself was BEAUTIFUL and felt like a good workout without being too challenging. We learned a lot, took many pictures, had a good snack/water break, and made some great memories. If you’re looking for a chance to get outside of the city and have some time in the fresh air amid some truly breathtaking landscapes, then this is for you. It couldn’t have been easier or better!

Loved it and would do again! - Nicole was a fantastic guide and all 3 of us had a wonderful time. Our 4th person had to cancel because of an injury, and we had no trouble at all with the cancellation. Nicole was very accommodating when we were running earlier, and very knowledgable during the hike. Would do again and strongly recommend!

Wonderful! - I just completed this walk with my friends. Nicole was very communicative and have us details about the history of this beautiful walk. She supplied us with walking sticks, water, and snacks. There were lots of opportunities for bathroom breaks, water, snacks and photos. The views are breathtaking. I highly recommend this outing! Must See These Beautiful & Magical Views! It’s the only way! Crater Rim Walks! BOOK NOW and you won’t regret! - Wanted to venture into some nature and needed some exercise after eating our way through NZ, Nicole made this adventure so magical and relaxing. So knowledgeable about the history and culture of Christchurch & NZ. Highly recommended- one of our highlights of our entire trip. The views and fresh-air are top rate! Must See adventure! Wow! Just Wow! Thank you Nicole, we will never forget this experience!
