Finger Licking Good - This was an interesting and unusual experience. Bring your family! First, they provide you with tastes of different kinds of chocolate as well as some hot chocolate. As you are being informed about chocolate making you get to see it being ground in a kettle by the entrance with drums that spin 24 hours a day. You are then led through a great gift shop into a back room where the class takes place. It is thankfully much cooler than the gift shop. We all donned our chef hats and aprons. We turned cranks and hand ground cacao nibs into a paste that we then formed into balls for making hot chocolate later. Our Master Chocolatier then provided is with melted chocolate on a marble countertop, which we had to cool down with spatulas. After a few minutes of mixing and cooling, our forms were ready to fill, and we could incorporate nuts or craisins if desired. After 20 minutes of shopping, the bars came out of refrigeration and were ready to pop out of the molds and be wrapped up to take home. And, they gave us special treats for later as well! The pickup and return to our resort were included in the fare, and our teachers were very kind and patient as we got our hands covered in chocolate. It was a messy job, but we refrained from licking the molds and counter, as much as we wanted to. Plan on spending money in the gift shop where they have alcohol, jewelry, clothing, and other gifts as well as, of course, a wide selection of chocolate! Another bonus is that we got picked up at 1:30 and were back at the resort by 4:30.

Great chocolate class - It was very informative and my hubby and I really enjoyed the class. It doesn’t hurt that you leave with what you created which is nice. If you want a short activity but interesting one, I recommend it.

The type of sweeth tooth you want - this was my second time taking a class. My first class was around Christmas and we prepared fish. The chocolate experience was nice. We made chocolate balls that were able to use for hot chocolate and we were able to make chocolate candy. I enjoyed my time and the class was fun.

WHO DOESN'T LOVE CHOCOLATE!! - The class was something different for an excursion. Was really hard to hear the guy talking. The guy talked way to much and didn't concentrate on all the couples. Two couples had to have the chocolate reheated to be able to make the chocolate bars. The class lists for an hour but we were there several. They have a mini market on site so plan to do a bit of shopping before or after the class.

Wish we had a little bit more - Honestly my son and I enjoyed it but I didn’t think there was enough. First we got picked up at 130 and I thought that it was supposed to start at 130 (apparently times are approximate) so we got there late because the guide already had started and they ended up having to repeat for us when we got there. So anyways the place you do the class in is absolutely beautiful we made the cacao balls and bark. Which was fun and messy and delicious. I have a picture at 2:13 pm the start and we were done with it all by 2:32 based off the picture I took of the chocolate in it’s mold… so about 20 min. Then the bark takes 20 min to set and you go shop which we did and then We came back and packaged up the chocolate and left. We spent more time waiting for the bus to take us back than we spent on making chocolate There was no “surprise contest” or “entertainment” that they list in the description and your one soft drink was water. Staff was friendly and the gift shop was cool and worth looking around. Like I said I wish we would have gotten to make more, maybe white chocolate and/or milk chocolate.
