Embark on a journey to Lake Kawaguchi Kachikachi. Ascend the mountain via cable car and marvel at the stunning views along the way. The Observatory, perched at 1,075 meters, provides a sweeping vista of Mount Fuji and Lake Kawaguchi. On clear days, the Southern Alps are also visible. At the mountain’s summit, “The Bell of Heaven” awaits; legend has it that ringing it will make your wishes come true. Inspired by Osamu Dazai’s tale, the gondolas and observation decks are adorned with tanuki and bunny dolls, inviting visitors to take photos. The cable car ride to the top of Mt. Amagami and Mt. Kachikachi lasts about 3 minutes, delivering you to the observation deck at 1,075 meters, where a 360-degree view of Mount Fuji and Lake Kawaguchi awaits. Each summer, Oishi Park by Lake Kawaguchi is blanketed in blooming lavender, creating a purple velvet landscape that beautifully complements Mount Fuji’s view. In autumn, the park’s broom grass (kochia) turns bright red, becoming fluffy and charming. This park also hosts the Lake Kawaguchi Herb Festival.
