Great tour! - It was an amazing tour! We loved our guide Emmanual. He was very informative, kind, and easy to listen to. The bus ride can take a long time if you hit traffic. Went on the tour for Bran Castle, but ended up loving Peleş castle just as much!

Good but long day out - Despite the early start and being a very long day this is a great trip. Perfect amount of time spent at Peles Castle but would have preferred more time at Dracula Castle and less in Brasov. Our guide was very informative and I learnt a lot about Romanian history + the country. Felt that the snow really added the extra touch!

Amazing experience - This was an early start and a late finish but worth every moment. We did this trip in deep snow, the driver handled the coach with precision. Our guide was Alex, who accompanied us on the tour of both castles. Alex kept an informed during our coach ride and encouraged questions. He skilfully guided us through Peles castle and was really informative. Bran castle was a beautiful castle and we had enough time to explore it. A cheeky stop in Brasov for a look af the lack church and a hot chocolate. Recommend this tour, Alex and the driver 😃 Thank you for a memorable experience.

Beautiful landscapes and architecture mixed in with some light humour. Was a long day but extremely worth it. The guide Emanuel kept things lights and informative through the whole day. Brilliant but check with the tour provider when booking through a 3rd party - Myself and my teenage daughters had a fabulous excursion. The coach was comfortable and the team made sure to do everything to make the day go smoothly. We were very lucky to have the first snow of the season, which although did add travel delays, made the trip much more enjoyable in our opinion. Prepare for a long day, it was great that additional travel time was not taken out of our visits, they just added it to the end of the day so we got home quite late (10:30pm) but it made sure we did not miss anything. Although there are food opportunities at each stop, the queues can be very long, coupled with bathroom wait times which mean you might not get as much time as you would like to explore. It was the Romanian school holidays when we went so this was also a factor for places being a bit busier. We took sandwiches, snacks and drinks in our bag to have throughout the day which I would definitely recommend as it meant we didn’t have to worry and could plan each visit around what we wanted most. The only caution I would advise when arranging through Tripadvisor is to contact the tour provider directly for T&Cs and scheduling after booking. Our info provided from Tripadvisor was that the tour departure time was 7:30 but to arrive around 15mins before. The actual departure time was in fact 7:15 and we were one of the last to arrive at around 7:10. We were also questioned whether my teenagers counted as children (which Tripadvisor counted them as) and it was suggested we should have brought their passports to evidence this. All was fine but it did mean we were not able to pay the child entrance fee for the castles and they had to go as adults. High school children in our area do not have student ID cards so we could not get the discounted rate for them. I would 100% recommend this trip.

Great tour, but 15.5 hours and this is more the norm not the exception. - Well I booked this despite the hesitation over the 12 hour time because I wanted to visit Bran Castle. I wasn't really interested in Peles castle or Brasov. But in fairness, Peles Castle was amazing. Great views, great castle, and learnt lots about Romanian history and customs. Our guide, Alex, was AMAZING. A really nice guy, knowledgeable and with a great sense of humour, he made the tour better than it was just with his knowledge and humour. The reasons I've given it a three star review, was that we set off just after 7am, and didn't get back till 10.30pm. It was just too long a day. The traffic was horrific, so no fault of the tour guide or the company, however the tour guide did say this happened quite often so I feel like the 12 hours is a little misleading, even with the disclaimer that it may take longer. There is a big difference between 12 hours and 15.5 hours. Personally, while I really enjoyed Peles Castle and Bran Castle, I didn't think Brasov was worth it, and I feel a lot of my fellow travellers felt the same. We mostly all just sat killing time waiting for the coach to pick us up. Seeing the attractions there took less than half hour and it added a lot onto the journey, so I think the tour could well be improved if that last Brasov stop was cut out entirely. Another reason for the 3 star is the ticketing issue. We paid a £20ish fee per person that didn't include entry fees. I knew from the information when booking that we would have to pay these separately, but I didn't think they'd be more than the actual tour fee. For the record, the entry costs were given when we were an hour into the journey on the coach, and they were 175 lei for an adult and 100 lei for a student. I just about had enough cash on me to pay for this, and it would have been helpful to know. If my son hadn't been a student, we wouldn't have had enough cash on us and would have had to go without Alex's brilliant knowledge and just go around on our own in the castles. I feel this should be either included in the price, or a specific price given to people so that they know how much cash to bring along. And for the record, it's not as if you can just stop and get cash out of these places from an ATM in the middle of Transylvania. Finally, can i just say it was -12C on the day of our tour, so dress up warm and make sure you have gloves and hats and shoes with decent grip. And a warm thank you to our very polite coach driver that made us feel very safe with his driving in those wintery conditions.

Avoid - leaves customers stranded. - This tour operator is irresponsible. They left me and my daughter in Bran at 5pm at night in temperatures of -10 degrees. The guide, Nicolas, had told us to exit the castle at 5pm and the coach would be there. It wasn’t. We were left completely stranded.

Scammers - AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Con artists in the finest degree, all the staff are very very very unprofessional and the worst treatment iv seen on a tour ever, the day started off okay getting into the bus once we arrived at bran castle they tried to make us pay extra for them to take us around on a tour, all it states in the description is to bring money for the entry this is not true if you can’t pay them what they ask (which is double what the ticket to the venue actually costs) they will leave you at the door and abandon you, also an icicle fell from the roof and small piece cut my partner above her eye and all they did was say oh no and carried on with everything when she was bleeding from her face, they did nothing to help and abandoned us at the door when we then get in they forced us to walk behind them so we could not hear the tour, we got the train home from brasov as we didn’t feel safe with these absolute pirates but read other reviews and it makes sense, people have missed flights, been left stranded, there has been eye witness accounts of them seeing people running for the bus and driving off from what I have read, they try and play nice but all they want is your money. AVOID.
