Highlights
  • Statie Taxi Universitate - Meet with your guide and set out for your Transylvania trip.
  • Peles Castle - Start your day trip with Peles Castle (inside visit), set in the scenic mountain resort of Sinaia, also called the Pearl of the Carpathians. Tour the Romanian royal family’s former summer residence, which showcases a magnificent palace in the German Renaissance style. Built at the foot of the mountains between 1873 and 1914 by Carol I, the first Romanian king, the palace is considered one of the most beautiful of its kind in Europe.
  • Brasov Historical Center - Next is the town of Brasov, previously known as Kronstadt. Its well-kept historical center filled with centuries-old homes connected by small streets paved with cobblestone retains its German medieval charm. Your walking tour of this lovely town starts from the main square, which features the Gothic Black Church (BisericaNeagră – inside visit), old City Hall, watch towers, walls around the former citadel, and the narrowest street in Europe.
  • Bran Castle (Dracula’s Castle) - Final stop at Bran Castle, commonly known as Dracula’s Castle (inside visit). The imposing construction, originally built as a fortress at the former border between Wallachia and Transylvania, looks out over a valley from its strategic position. The function of this medieval landmark is evident through its grandiose towers as well as its winding narrow staircases and passages. The Gothic appearance adds to the allure while you learn about its infamous ruler, Vlad the Impaler, and its legendary vampire.

Conclude your tour with return transport to your hotel in Bucharest.

A good day - Good tour guide good information. Very efficient and well-planned. Big Dan did a great job. It would be nice at some point to get busses with charging outlets for phones but that’s just a suggestion and my lack of charge was my own fault for not having plugged my phone in the night before.

Great experience - We ran into some issues (weather, racing event in Sinaia) but Alex (our guide) did his best to circumvent these issues, which made this trip great! Alex also gave us lots of information and insight into Romanian history, folklore and politics.

Great Tour 5 stars! Viator 2 stars. - Alex our guide was great as well as our driver who got us thru the Carpathian Montains safely in the rain and mist. Bran Castle was a tourist crush on the weekend and not enjoyable. Peles Castle was crowded as well but beautiful and well worth it. You can buy your tickets to the Castles on line and take advantage of the senior or student discounts, otherwise you pay full price in cash with the guide. Brasov was lovely, we'd like to go back there for 2 nights. You can skip the Black church. The one problem we had was the Viator website gave us pick up options so we picked the site closest to our hotel. But we were on the big 48 person bus which can't pick up at the smaller locations. When I asked where the actual pick up location was, I got 2 different responses, one from the tour operator and one from Viator. When I asked again, they canceled my tour without notication and I had to rebook for another day. Viator needs to get their act together and not give any pick up options if you book the big 48 seat bus!

Fun tour - The guide was very professional. His knowledge was vast. The last part of the tour - Dracula's castle, probably doesn't add much more.

It’s an ok tour for a very fast visit - Well organized tour. but our guide bogdan was hard to understand with his English. He spoke very fast as well which made it hard to understand. Also I know it’s a long day tour but the stops are a bit rushed to see much. Overall it’s a good tour for a very Quick Look at each stop.

Basic tour - It was mostly what you would expect for a high tourist destination tour. Lots of people everywhere, a slow bus ride, etc... The negatives against this particular tour would be that the guide was not friendly towards us passengers, there were incredibly long periods of time where he didn't talk to us at all (I am used to tours where the guides fill the driving time with information about the country, land, etc.). Finally, when instructed to purchase tickets for the castles, we were not given the option (or even informed about) the extra tickets we could buy for specialty areas of the castles - with the crazy long line ups, it wasn't as if once you got to that part and found out you needed a separate ticket you could just go back for it - you couldn't. Participants should be told on advance of different ticket options and be able to purchase the one that interests them.

The bus left without us!... - The bus left without us! We knocked on the bus door, talked to the tour operator, he asked to wait on the other side of the street, then they drove away, withoit stoping at the place they asked us to wait! I was literally left on thr street with a 7 year old kid!
