To immerse into the tradition of wine, we will visit one of the most charming villages of La Rioja, Laguardia and enjoy a guided visit to a traditional winery with wine tasting. Later we will discover Vitoria-Gasteiz, the capital of the Basque Country, where we will enjoy a nice walk into the heart of the city.

Worthwhile trip - A very pleasant and informative adventure inland from Bilbao. Paula was our guide - multilingual and very well informed on geography, history and local tradition. She was friendly, helpful and easy company. There were 8 in our group. We left Bilbao 09.30 and were returned at about 18.00, having driven to the hilltop fortress town of La Guardia where we visited a traditional family bodega and learned about the making of Rioja wine and had time to ourselves to explore, before driving on to Vittoria Gasteiz which was also a picturesque town of historic interest. Worthwhile trip.

Book it! Wine + Unique History of the Region - This an absolutely wonderful day. Our guides were so knowledgeable about the region, especially about the history and basque culture. It was so great to learn about the wine but Paola shared lots of additional information that gave us a much better understanding of the wine country’s history—absolutely invaluable! The drive was scenic, informative, and well laid out with rest moments too.

Great day trip from Bilbao - Excellent day trip from Bilbao! Josu was an amazing guide, knowledgeable and funny! We visited Laguardia, went to a wine cellar and had a presentation and a tasting afterwards. We also had free time which was good as we could have proper lunch. Headed afterwards to Vitoria, had a quick tour of the city before heading back to Bilbao. I would have liked maybe more time in Vitoria, at least an hour of free time would have been great. But it’s true that it was almost 7pm when we got back to Bilbao, so I don’t know where we could squeeze 1 more hour. All in all, it was a great choice and we felt lucky to have Josu as our guide. :)

Great trip. - Great trip with a very friendly and knowledgeable guide. Beautiful scenery and a visit to a small cave bodegas in a tranquil village. Another visit to Vitoria and a guided tour. Overall great value for money and highly recommended

Wine - We love the cava, a very explicit description of the winery and the process.

very good and the amability of the tour guide (Borjas was his name) - It was very good to know the town of la guardia, and the view of the landscape was excelent. I definitively will recomend this tour

An interesting trip - Josu was a good knowledgeable guide. I found the mix of Spanish and English hard but understood the need to use both and he did well. The trip seems badly timed though as there was a lot of free time in LaGuardia and then Vitoria was really rushed and there was so much more to see. It would be better to do the trip in reverse. But a good day out and good value .

You could do better - The drive through Rioja country was good but we didn't see any of the special architecture even from a distance. LaGuardia was lovely and enjoyable. The winery experience was not. We didn't get the third glass of wine which was humiliating - because of your meanness - and the presentation wasn't very professional.
