Reflections of a bygone era! - This tour was a great way to immerse myself into the history and culture. Not only was Wendy super friendly and helpful but she also had a wealth of knowledge about the trip highlights. If you want to see some old culture with incredible scenery then this is the tour to take and I would highly recommend doing this tour with the team from Catherine Lu Tours.

Awesome Great Wall experience! - Awesome tour experience! we were so thrilled to experience the Great Wall at night esp the light up. the Gubei Water Town was also very scenic. Justin, our guide, is very friendly and knowledgeable. he is also accommodating and took care of our needs including recommending a lovely riverside restaurant for our dinner. he took care of the details while we just enjoy the experience! highly recommended. go in Sep….it’ll be less crowded!

Amazing tour of Simatai Great Wall and Gubei Water Town - May, our friendly and experienced tour guide took us to the beautiful Gubei Water Town where we visited a local distillery, made our own kites, and watched a fun drone show at night. The highlight was hiking the Simatai Great Wall at night with all the twinkling lights of the town below. We also enjoyed the public hot springs. Highly recommend!

Awesome experience Gubei and Simatai great wall - We had a great day with tour guide Michael. Pick up and drop of at our hotel lobby super convenient. Very comfortable car ride; in nice seats, airconditiong and with phone charge possibilities and fresh water we went to Gubei Water Town and then the evening tour on the Great Wall Simatai. Michael lead the way buying tickets, finding nice restaurant, telling a lot about history and culture and translating where we needed it and avoiding crowds Beautiful to be able to see the great wall in such a comfortable way. Awesome experience, we definitely recommend this tour!

The So So Gubei 💧 town & less HECTIC Great Wall - Day 2 for us as come in late to Beijing, Day 1 tour with Catherine Lu tour. 9.30 am start the trip with driver 小龙 picking up on time.Total about 2 Hrs from Inner Mongolia Grand,pick up Catherine otw to Gubei 💧 town.Town is very big but look so so in the morning. Luckily 🐈herine took us using the easier route for us to go to Simatai. Honestly i dun appreciate the town that much at that time as given the money making history. Still cleverly done. Didn't do the Boat Ride as water was frozen. Took 🚡 up and start Great Wall. Simatai Great Wall was perfect 👌  for me as I hate to squeeze shoulders to shoulders. This part is not so popular as was very far. But I ❤️ it. Had some challenge climb up and down the towers, making you really understand the hardship when building it. Won't recommend when still ice on 🧱 if you really want to take the challenge prepared Ice Cleats. If not get opinion from 🐈. Had late lunch in 💧 town after the climb as was very full from heavy BF. Did a evening tour ard town. Nite was astonishing ard town and Great Wall.Start to value the build ard the area and luckily not much ppl come here still. But at Nite in town you will see the crowd. Had leave right after the wonderful Drones nite show, don't want finish the rest as was too cold for us. Ex Inn ard there so took 🐈 advice got a better and nearer Jinshanling Great Wall Hotel (3-5min away only) ready for the next day climb. Overall Experience was tiring but worth it. ✨️ 👍Need not overwhelmed by people.

Great tour! - I went on a tour to Gubei Water Town and Great Wall tour (did not do the boat tour) with Justin. The tour was great! I was alone in business so was a little nervous, but felt very safe the whole time. Justin and the driver met me at the hotel in the afternoon, and were flexible with the timing. They drove me to the Gubei Water Town. They made every effort to take care of me, telling me the plan and supplying water. Justin took me through the village, helping me buy gifts and food. He was thoughtful of me the whole time and shared a snack. The information was interesting, and he shared some of his experiences and perspectives. He told me to the wall, which was amazing. This is the only section lit up at night, so can be considered for those in business who have limited time. They returned me to my hotel smoothly. The next morning, Justin and the driver picked me up at my hotel again and took me to Tiananmen Sq and the Forbidden City. Again, Justin was flexible with my timing, shared great information and navigated the crowds skillfully. Great tour and I felt safe and taken care of the whole two days!
