Mutianyu Wall with Herbie - I am very glad that I chose the Mutianyu Wall Tour. My guide Herbie was great. He told me a lot about the history, answered all my questions, took great photos (he is as good a guide as he is a photographer), everything from the pick up at the airport worked out great. The driver Mrs Chen was also very professional and I felt comfortable the whole time. If I'll be in Beijing in the future I'll surely book another tour again. Highly recommended!

Great Wall Layover Tour with Rita - My partner and I visited the Great Wall with our tour guide, Rita, and it was a fantastic experience. The tour was well-organised, and Rita ensured we returned to the airport on time for our next flight. She shared fascinating history and insights throughout the tour, which we thoroughly enjoyed. Despite the extremely cold weather that day, Rita made sure we were comfortable by providing warm jackets and attending to every detail. We also had plenty of time to explore and soak in the breathtaking views. I highly recommend this tour and Rita as a guide for anyone visiting the Great Wall!

Wonderful experience - My family and I had a 12 hour layover in Beijing. We decided to do the Mutianyu Great Wall private tour. I am so glad we did. Even, few days before our trip, the tour operator Daniel answered all our enquiries very quickly via email. He gave us great advice of how to deal with checked baggage and immigration in Beijing. On the day of the trip Herbie was our guide. He is a legend. Mr Lee was our driver. His car was big and very comfortable. We met Herbie at the agreed time and place in the airport. He is super friendly and supportive. He had winter coats ready for us. He was very supportive with my young child too. We learned a lot about the history and culture. We had a lot of fun in the lift chair and toboggan. Herbie was with us all the time and we felt very happy and safe during our stay. I highly recommend this tour. My child loved it so much that he wants us to go back to Beiijng. When we do, I will definitely book the same tour operator.

Great experience for 9-hour layover - just enough time to visit the wall for 2 hrs and come back to catch our flight - Very well organised tour. Our guide Alice picked us up from the meeting point at the airport on time, and we then we met our driver outside the terminal. It was a fairly quick 1 hour drive to the wall early sunday morning. On the way Alice gave us lots of information about the wall and the history. We also asked many question we had in mind. We got warm coats to use, as it was very cold, and got to the wall just after sunrise around 8am and got amazing photos taken by Alice, then walked on our own for about 1-1.5 hrs on the wall, it was a great experience. Had some hot drinks and food in Mutianuy village before heading back to the airport. Alice also suggested a stop at a tea ceremony, but we didn’t have time for it unfortunately. Our driver had a very nice hybrid vehicle and we felt very well taken care of and safe the whole way (got good naps in the car too!). Our luggage was stored in the car while we did our tour. Everything from booking to your tour to returning to the airport was handled really well and professionally! Warmly recommended.

Pricey but worth it if you are very time limited - The whole tour was very professionally organized, my guide Herbie had excellent English skills, his explanation was very captivating, he did not spread any propaganda words about China, so you don't feel anyhow uncomfortable listening to something you do not want to. And I cannot omit his huge effort to take the best photos of the best of me, which was an incredible help considering that I was traveling solo with limited options to capture myself using a selfie stick. He also took care of purchasing small photo souvenirs and paid for cable car/toboggan rides in local currency. I cannot forget to mention agency owner Daniel, whose communication was very fast, efficient and straightforward. I am pretty sure that on my next long layover in Beijing, I will book a Forbidden city tour with them as well.

Stress-free Great Wall & Old Hutongs Trip - We were a group of 7 people (2 families) which included 3 teenage boys. Pick-up from the airport was absolutely seamless (the instructions from Beijing Layover Tours to leave the airport are accurate and easier than it initially sounds, it can take a long time to go through all the queues though, first time only took 1 hour, second time took 2 hours) Our tour guide Lisa was so helpful and gave us great historical background before we arrived at the Great Wall. Lisa got our tickets and dealt with the Chinese staff working the chairlifts and toboggans for us and told us exactly what to do. I had initial concerns about the timings and wondered if we would be back at the airport in time for our connecting flight, but she knew our timings and made sure we were on time. We were picked up at 7am and returned to the airport by midday, had plenty of time at the wall, time to look in the souvenir shop and travelled back to the airport without rushing. Highly recommend doing this tour first thing in the morning as it gets busy after that. We were able to take photos with nobody in the way. Tip: take USD$ with you. The chairlift/toboggan is $20 per person. And any extras (food/coffee/snacks) the tour guide will pay in Chinese Yuen for you and you reimburse them in USD$. They take photos of you as you reach the top on the chairlift. These are USD$5 each if you want them. Again reimburse the tour guide. I can’t recommend using this company enough. We did the Great Wall on our return journey from Australia to UK. On our way out we did the Old Hutongs tour which was a lovely walking trip around the old back streets. Again take USD$ with you as there is loads of street foods to try. We went to a restaurant for authentic Peking Duck and then went for dumplings. It was all excellent.

Great wall almost to myself - A reliable tour operator who provides clear and accurate information about the tour. The guide and the driver were friendly and professional. The Great Wall was almost empty when we arrived early in the morning at 8 AM. Could take good photos.
