Worth It - We loved this tour. The emerald pool is beautiful and the lake trip was very enjoyable. The cave was ridiculously crowded with tourists ( as is everywhere in Thailand). Lunch was a good assortment of Thai dishes catering for dietary needs. We most enjoyed our swim in the lake after lunch. Worth the drive.

Great excursion, big pickup range - The activity itself was absolutely worth doing with no complaints other than we had to go on a day where it was pouring down rain, but it was pouring down rain four straight days that we were there, even though it was dry season. That being said, after the emerald pools when we went to get on the long boats, the dock had about 20 boats, but we went to one of the only two that didn’t have a roof. It was doable and we had a lot of fun, but it would’ve been better with a roof on that. That being said, this excursion is well worth doing with a cool cave hike where we saw bats, and I was able to study the geology of it, swimming or kayaking opportunities for designated periods of time, and a really good authentic lunch with food that I had never tried before, but liked, which is saying something as a picky eater. I appreciated our tour guide having a great attitude, despite the rain. And hey, the rain cleared up at the end for a picture. :)

Relaxed day in the national park - An eventful and relaxing day in the beauty of nature! First we took a rowboat on crystal clear spring water through a picturesque landscape before switching to a motorboat after the onward journey to be navigated through the natural beauties of the reservoir. We also visited a stalactite cave. Our guide Preaw accompanied us very expertly and full of good humor through the day and answered all our many questions patiently. A big compliment! Thanks also to Toto for organizing! J. & A.

Lovely, but long driving times and maybe not best for a less than fit 69 year old - Beautiful country, views amazing. Our guide was absolutely lovely. However, although the trip is advertised as suitable for up to 80 years old, it wasn’t. The visit to the caves felt dangerous and an accident waiting to happen. Also, the food we were served was not of the standard we received on other trips

Khao Sok national park not to be missed! - We were picked up on time, emailed before hand to confirm timing and the driver was safe and vehicle very comfortable. The tour itself had only 4 people, nice to get away from the tourist madhouse of Khao Lake resort beaches. The guide was okay; he had a painful stomach the first day so was not very talkative or informative. It would have been nice to hear about the region, culture, religion, history.... anything about Thailand. The short paddle at Emerald pool was magical-- quiet, clear, cool water in a lush forest. Wish we could have stayed longer. Cheow Lan Lake (reservoir) and surrounding karst mountains are spectacular--wild, remote, endless, and enchanting, not to be missed, the highlight our Thailand trip. Again however, our guide provided very little if any information on our long boat rides-- more like wandering around for 1-2 hours hoping to see some animals from the boat along the lake shore. The overnight at the house boat complex was very basic, beds uncomfortable, smelly bathroom, passable food, and unhappy looking staff. Once we got off the lake, we had lunch at a small restaurant-- great food, best Thai food while in southern Thailand. Finally on our drive back to Khao Lak, I directly asked our guide many questions about his country, culture, and its history. He responded and we learned a lot and wished the 2 day, 1 night trip could have had more of that from the beginning.

Recommended excursion. - Booked through Get You Guide. Picked up at 07h in the hotel, then a 2h ride in a minibus to Emerald Pool where we first did a half hour canoe and then could enjoy the landscaped pool. Beautiful in nature and fun for photos. Then to Cheow Lan Lake and first a view over the dam. Then sailed with a long tale boat on the lake, to the known rocks. Very nice. Then lunch in a floating village, was moderate in quality and diversity. Then back on the lake by boat and after a swim stop back to the harbour and the return trip by minibus. Back at the hotel around 6pm.
