Highlights
  • Giza Plateau - Upon arrival at Cairo airport, you will be greeted by a tour guide holding a sign with your name outside the passenger area. You will then be transported to Giza City in a private air-conditioned vehicle to begin your day tour of the Giza Pyramids. Here, you will visit the Great Pyramids of Cheops, Chephren, and Mykerinos. Cheops is the largest pyramid ever constructed. Next, you will get an up-close view of The Sphinx, a massive funerary complex guarded by the legendary lion-bodied figure with the face of King Chephren. You will also visit the Valley Temple, where King Chephren’s body was mummified.

There are opportunities to enter any of the pyramids, visit the Solar Boat Museum, or take a camel ride, but these activities require additional fees. Our tour guide will assist you in obtaining the necessary tickets.

  • Great Pyramid of Cheops (Khufu) - Khufu’s pyramid complex includes a valley temple, now buried beneath the village of Nazlet el-Samman. Diabase paving and nummulitic limestone walls have been discovered, but the site has not been fully excavated. The valley temple was connected to a causeway, which was largely destroyed during the village’s construction.

  • Khafre’s Pyramid - Khafre’s pyramid complex features a valley temple, the Sphinx temple, a causeway, a mortuary temple, and the king’s pyramid. Several statues of Khafre were found in the valley temple, some discovered in a well in the temple floor by Mariette in 1860, and others during later excavations by Sieglin (1909–10), Junker, and Reisner.

  • Great Sphinx - Visit the Valley Temple where priests mummified King Chephren’s body. Here, you will also get a close-up view of The Sphinx, the legendary guardian of the massive funerary complex with a lion’s body and King Chephren’s head. This is a great spot for taking memorable photos with the Sphinx, and our guide will help you capture some fun shots.

  • The Museum of Egyptian Antiquities - Continue your day tour at the Egyptian Museum of Antiquities, which houses a rare collection of 5,000 years of art, the largest and most valuable collection of Egyptian art in the world. Over 250,000 genuine artifacts are on display, including a dedicated exhibit of the Tutankhamen collection of treasures, gold, and jewelry, which were enclosed in his tomb for over 3,500 years before being discovered in the 1920s.

  • Cairo Citadel - Follow this with a visit to the Citadel, where you will see the Alabaster Mosque of Mohamed Ali Pasha, built in 1835. Lunch is included between visits at a local restaurant, with a full meal provided for each person (beverages not included).

  • Khan Al-Khalili - End your day tour with a visit to the Khan El Khalili Bazaars, renowned for their fine brassware, copper, perfumes, leather, silver, gold, antiques, and more.

At the end of the day, you will be transferred back to Cairo International Airport.

Great way to spend the day in Cairo - We had a full day layover in Cairo and decided to see the pyramids. We ended up booking via emo tours and had a great time. Our guide Sayed Mahmoud was very knowledgeable and flexible. He kept reminding us that we will do what we want to do, instead of a fixed tour. He had great knowledge about the anciemt Egypt and showed us the Bazar when requested. Also, we had not booked with lunch by accident but he made time for it. Traffic in Cairo is quite chatoic and our driver made sure we have time for the activities and displayed a very professional attidute. I recommend highly booking with them.

Adel hakem - Booked our tour through EMO tours several weeks in advance. Prior to arriving, received an email stating tour guide would meet my wife and I in our hotel lobby. The day of the tour there was some confusion as we didn’t see tour guide in the lobby so we had hotel call EMO. After 10 minutes tour guide arrived and we were off to our tour. Overall, the tour was great, we saw the touristy sites that we paid for like the pyramids and Sphinx. Adel hakem (tour guide) got us access to see the Egyptian boat next to the pyramid for “free.” After the pyramids our tour guide added a couple places that were not on the original tour: Papyrus (Egyptian painting) and oriental perfume (scented oil). My wife and I bought something at both places so we are glad he made us stop at these places. The last stop was the Egyptian museum, and then Adel got us authentic koshari to taste. We original appreciate Adel enthusiasm and Egyptian historical knowledge!
