  • Godafoss - After around 35 min drive from Akureyri we come to Godafoss, one of Iceland´s most beautiful and uniquely shaped waterfalls. Here we tell you why the falls are important in Icelandic history and give you enough time to explore the area close up.
  • Skutustaoagigar - Skútustaðagígar are definatly one of the Icelandic gems. One of the landmarks in Lake Myvatn area are these unique and beautifully formed crater. They are called pseudo craters as they are not caused by the actual explosion of volcanos, but our guide will tell you all about them.
  • Dimmuborgir Lava Formations - We take our time to drive around the lake during the day and visit many different places. Dimmuborgir is a unique and very interesting area. Visitors are given time to walk among the unusual lava sculptures, pillars and caves. Our guides know everything about this area and will be happy to walk with you to explain how the area was created 2,500 years ago, as well as tell you a few folktales about the local trolls.
  • Grjotagja Cave - Grjótagjá is a small cave in the Lake Mývatn area, and was a popular bathing place at one time. However, geological activity in the period 1975-1984, caused the temperature of the water to rise to such a degree that it has not been possible to bathe there since. At Grjotagjá our guide will show you the the crack between the 2 tectonic plates and tell you about all the continental drift of the plates, mantle plumes and volcanic activity in Iceland.
  • Namafjall Hverir - Hverir is a geothermal area at the foothill of Namaskard near Lake Myvatn. Features include colorful sulphur mud pits, steam vents, cracked mud and fumaroles. This area is colorful, mystic and extremely beautiful…but a bit smelly of all the sulphur

An amazing day with our guide Lilja - We did the Lake Myvatn and Game of Thrones tour. The sights were fabulous. Lilja was our guide. She was amazing. She really “made” the trip for us. She didn’t just chauffeur us to the locations, she got out and spent time with us if we wanted her to, showing us things and explaining everything well. She narrated the bus drive which was interesting. It’s obvious she loves her job and as a result, we loved her tour. The only negative I have for the company is communication. It isn’t timely. I have dealt with this company since 2019 (trip cancelled due to Covid) and the response to emails is slow and sometimes there is no reply. There was also a change to the time of our tour and we were apparently emailed but I have no email from them. If you can get past the communication and just trust that all will work out, you’ll have a great time. They are a reputable company so no need to fear if communication is slow.

Excellent tour, excellent guide - This was a brilliant tour! The highlights for me were the cave and mud pools, I had never seen anything like it that. The Nature baths at the end were the best I've been to! Inga the guide was so informative and kind, and very well prepared! She loaned us spikes for our shoes so we wouldn't slip and used a shovel to clear the ice from the steps down to the cave, which was really appreciated 😄

Great tour and guide! - The locations visited on this tour can easily stand on their own for beauty and awe. The added bonus of locations used in Game of Thrones enhanced the fun of the tour! Lilja was a fantastic guide, answering all of our questions and then some, with great local knowledge and information. She was also very caring and conscientious, making sure every stop was safe (many slippery areas), taking pictures, and adding the little things that made the trip more special.

Fantastic Tour - As usual in Iceland, a stunning daytrip taking in so many amazing places with a wonderful guide. Trolls, lagoons, lava fields, continental plate rifts, placid lakes, waterfalls, wild blueberries, just heaven for the senses. Highly, highly recommend, it's a day you will never ever forget. The stories about the places were fascinating and coming from a local were truly authentic. A wonderful day of beauty, weirdness and just straight up magical nature.

Excellent trip with knowledgeable guide. - Superb tour with Inge. The minibus was a few minutes late collecting us from the port (we were on a cruise), but that was no problem. Inge was a delight. Very knowledgeable, friendly, and a good driver. We had excellent commentary throughout the tour, and she made sure everyone knew what they needed regarding timings to leave each place etc, and reassured us about being back on board in time for our departure. A great day all round.

Waited 30 minutes and was shouted at by rude office staff - First, the sole positive: the tour guide and driver Inga was pleasant and knowledgeable. In a way, her knowledge was wasted on the cruise tour group where some of the inconsiderate senior folks were playing videos on their phones even as she was speaking. As for the rest: passengers on these trips seem to be from the monstruously large cruise groups that unload in Akureyri and all that entails. I was told I would be picked up at 8:50. I was out of my hotel waiting on the street well before that but utltimately pick up was 30 minutes later than that. Apparently they had picked up the cruise passengers first. For the amount you pay for this tour, they should have the courtesy to notify passengers who will be picked up later than expected. Anxious about not hearing anything at all from the operator, I called them. I was unable to reach anyone during the first three calls (starting at 8:53). When the call was finally picked up the fourth time, it was some guy who very condescendingly told me to "relax" a couple of times, didn't offer an opology and said the bus would be there very shortly. Almost another 15 minutes elapsed with no sign of the bus. I called and it was the same unhelpful individual. I asked what sort of vehicle to expect and made it clear that what I was experiencing was not satisfactory. Again, no apology was forthcoming. Instead, the Travelling Viking staff shouted "hey you" and then hung up the phone on me. This man's hostility and complete lack of customer ethos was absolutely breathtaking.
