- Dimmuborgir Lava Formations - Traveling from Godafoss to Dimmuborgir takes about 35 minutes. Here, we embark on a delightful hike through the intriguing lava formations of Dimmuborgir, with an option to enjoy lunch at the restaurant. This stop lasts for 50 minutes.
- Namafjall Hverir - A short 15-minute drive from Dimmuborgir brings us to the geothermal area, where we marvel at the fascinating bubbling mud pits. We spend 15 minutes exploring this unique site.
- Dettifoss Waterfall - From Hverir, we drive for 40 minutes to Dettifoss, Europe’s tallest and most powerful waterfall. We take an hour to appreciate the grandeur of this natural wonder.
- Asbyrgi - The drive from Hljodaklettar to Asbyrgi takes around 40 minutes. Asbyrgi Canyon, shaped like a horse’s hoof, is a stunning natural paradise where we enjoy a 35-minute hike.
- Husavik - Traveling from Asbyrgi to Husavik takes about 50 minutes. We stop for 20 minutes to capture photos and take a bathroom break.
- Akureyri - We return to Akureyri, enjoying the scenic landscape with several photo stops along the way. This drive takes approximately 80 minutes.
