Zipaquira - Zipaquira amazed us the chair of salt, unique in the world with a spectacular set of lights, I think maybe we should add a touch of white light, the immensity of the place blows your mind. It is essential to know her

Zipaquira and Guatavita - a truly exceptional tour! - Absolutely fantastic tour! The guide was knowledgeable, precise, and very friendly, as was the driver. The car was clean with air-conditioned, and driver even cleaning it while waiting for us. The hike around Lake Guatavita was breathtaking, and the history of the lake left a lasting impression. The Zipaquirá Salt Mine was an incredible experience, especially the underground Stations of the Cross and historical visualization of the mine.

Delighted with the tour! - The tour was very very good! My boyfriend and I were super happy with our guide (Linda, you were incredible!) and with the visit to the Salt Cathedral. We had very pleasant conversations and Linda had no problems answering all our questions and following the conversation. Thanks to Edwin also for taking us and bringing us back safe and sound. 100% recommended!!!
The Salt Cathedral is beautiful and a pleasure to visit. Lunch in Zipaquirá was delicious too!

Stunning views and awe-inspiring sights in a custom private tour. - Awesome private tour of one of the spectacular tourist spots in Colombia. I love public tours because I get to meet people but this private tour with Maria Paula allowed for a more custom experience. I would do again!

Captivating Bogotá! - I hired a private excursion for 4 people in total, in which we did Zipaquirá in the morning and then in the afternoon a visit to the Gold Museum including lunch in the same museum, and a guided tour of Candelaria and the Center. Our guide was Juan Fernando Rodríguez, very professional and dedicated to us. The guiding was done in English, the guide was dedicated, friendly, and very professional, as well as very knowledgeable about the details and history of each place. Very good mobility, very well chosen Aracataca restaurant for lunch. We were very happy with the excellent service. Totally recommended.

Up in the mountains close to God - The entire tour was remarkable and our guide was extremely knowledgable so the experience was very informative. We were mesmerized by the beauty of both sites.

Terrible tour guide waste of time and money - I wanted to visit both Zipaquira & Guatavita. After checking the reviews, I wanted a day tour to provide the best experience even though Hansa Tours was expensive. I arrived a day early in Bogota before joining a group tour.
On the day of the tour, I was scheduled to be picked up at 9:00 AM from the hotel. At 9:15, no guide to be seen; I called Hansa and was told that the guide, Joel, was on his way. Finally, at 9:40, he showed up with a sorry excuse, but there was no vehicle for the tour. About 10 minutes later, an old taxi showed up, which was the vehicle I spent the day in the uncomfortable back seat.
The first stop was Guatavita. The entire tour is led by a tour guide from Guatavita in Spanish. I had expected that Joel would translate, but that didn't happen. Fortunately, there was an English tour guide with another group that I could follow along with, but I only received the gist of what was being said and the importance of Guatavita. If I wanted to know anything, I had to ask. Joel wasn't interested in providing any information unless requested. He was clueless.
When we arrived at Zipaquira again, I had to ask for information regarding the salt mine. There is an informational movie I had to insist on viewing. Joel provided no information unless asked.
If I hadn't read Lonely Planet, I wouldn't have had any information about the two sites.
Fortunately, I hadn't pre-paid for the tour. When we returned to my hotel, Joel asked for payment. I told him that he was the worst tour guide I had ever had and refused to pay the agreed payment. He called someone at Hansa, and I went up to my room. The next morning somebody who didn't speak English was at the front desk looking for me. I spoke with Hansa and agreed to take $75.00 for the tour. To make things worst, Hansa said that he had personally trained Joel.
Joel was only employed as a tour guide for 5 months. He became a tour guide because he couldn't find any other employment. Later on my trip, I was informed to be an official tour guide, one needs to attend a two-year training class and be licensed. Joel was neither. He was not qualified to be a tour guide.
Next time I will rely on Viator, which is vetted by Expedia, and not use a tour guide company that spends money on fancy advertising. I also should have paid closer attention to the reviews; almost all of the reviews are from people with less than 3 prior reviews, which leads one to assume that reviews are bogus.
