Fantastic 3 day tour of Monarch butterflies in Michoacan. - We had a wonderful trip to see the Monarch butterflies. Ulisses is a great tour guide and told us lots of interesting information and showed us great things during the trip On the way there we stopped in the town of Patzuaro and was so impressed with the old Spanish architecture and town. We then went to Santa Clara del Cobre(Copper town) and visited a family (grandfather, son, and grandson)business of creating wonderful things out of copper. I bought several things for Christmas gifts. We then went to Morelia and what a beautiful city. The basilica is gorgeous and the market and candy market were fun. At last we went to the Monarch butterflies and it did not disappoint. I took a horse up the mountain and it was fun and lots of nice scenery. Once at the top we needed to walk/climb up to the butterflies. One of the tour guides Fabian stayed with me and assisted me up the climb. He was so helpful and caring and such an asset to the tour. His english is excellent! All in All it was a great trip. I highly recommend!

Ketavi tours was great! - Our trip to Morelia with Ketavi tours, Ulysses, Fabien, and George was perfect. The days are long but worth it. We stayed 2 nights in Morelia, went to the butterfly sanctuary, had lunch at some wonderful places, made stops in Patzcuaro where we shopped and Santa Clara. In Santa Clara we stopped at a family run, 5th generation copper crafting home. We saw how copper cups and other items are made then shopped their wares right then and there. Fantastic experience. I would definitely use Ketavi Tours again. Thank you Ulysses!

Amazing Ketavi tour - Ulises provides a unique experience due in part to his personal background. He has extensive knowledge of the culture of Mexico and utilizes this. to provide information and activities that make the tour truly fantastic. He has a passion for providing clients with insights into authentic and historic Mexican culture by utilizing personal connections with indigenous people and artisans. This tour visited Santa Clara del Cobre where we toured a small copper factory and watched artisans individually handcraft beautiful copper items. The Butterfly Sanctuary in El Rosario was truly amazing! Thousands of Monarch butterflies everywhere, clustered on branches, flying around you. The magnitude was so great that when you stopped and listened, you could actually hear the butterflies' wings beats. Ketavi tours was recommended to us by several friends and we were amazed and thrilled with our tour.

Monarchs in Michoacán - The tour to see the butterflies far exceeded my expectations. Ulises and Jennifer were wonderful guides. We were able to visit a coppersmith artisan at work at his home, go to restaurants off the beaten path, and see the markets and beautiful sites in Morelia and Patzcuaro in addition to the wonders of the monarch reserve. I look forward to coming back and repeating this same tour someday.

My experience at the monarca santuario - Not a lot of butterflies it was a quick visit and you must rent a horse both ways if you decide to walk be prepared to pay the price because the high altitude will be a killer

Not What I Expected - The staff was courteous, and in particular, the driver did an excellent job navigating the highways. The copper factory was a small shop at the back of a family home. They sold various crafts at the end of the demonstration but we were not given time to explore the town or visit the many copper stores that displayed finer merchandise. The hotel was adequate with a good breakfast but the rooms included in the tour did not have windows to the outside. Fortunately it was just a place to sleep. Morelia is a beautiful city but too little time was devoted to it. The van we travelled in was too cramped for such a long journey. Check the weather before travelling as you might not see any monarchs if the weather is cold and-or overcast.
