  • Xiangxi Hibiscus Town - Furong Town is situated by the Youshui River, a tributary of the Yuan River, one of the four major rivers in Hunan. Historically, it was a bustling trade dock accessible by boat to Chu and Su countries. The town is famous for its two-tiered waterfall, one of the top waterfalls in China, which you can walk behind. Nearby, you can enjoy views of the river and dock, as well as the Tujia King’s summer palace stilted buildings. The town features stone streets lined with local shops in old wooden stilted buildings, and many ancient-style houses where local Tujia people still reside. The town gained fame in the 1980s after being featured in a popular movie. With over 1,000 years of history, it was named one of China’s top 10 Charming Towns in 2011. The blend of culture, history, and nature makes Furong Town especially enchanting in the evening when the lights illuminate the waterfall and the town.

Visitors can walk through the waterfall and admire the ancient-style houses where the local Tujia people still reside. The town gained fame in the 1980s after a popular movie was filmed there. With over 1,000 years of history, Furong Town offers a rich blend of culture, history, and nature. The evening lights make the waterfall and the town exceptionally beautiful.
