Zhangjiajie - Fenghuang. O/N Fenghuang.

Zhangjiajie - Your driver and guide will meet you at 9:00am at your Zhangjiajie hotel or the airport, then transfer you to Fenghuang old town. The drive takes approximately 3.5 hours via the highway, covering a distance of 250km.

Xiangxi Hibiscus Town - On the way, you will stop at Furong Ancient Town (also known as Hibiscus Ancient Town), originally called Wangcun Village. This location gained fame as the filming site for the movie Hibiscus Town, leading to its name change. Furong Ancient Town is home to a diverse population, primarily consisting of the Tujia and Miao ethnic groups, with Tujia people making up over 80% of the population.

Phoenix Ancient Town - Next, you will head to Fenghuang old town, which is a 1.5-hour drive away. Your guide will assist with hotel check-in and show you around the town. Unlike other ancient towns in China, Fenghuang Ancient Town is a serene and secluded place situated by a river and surrounded by mountains. It’s a great place to explore interesting shops and homes, and discover unique nooks. The ethnic handicrafts here are particularly delicate and special. At night, the town becomes even more peaceful. Enjoying the sunset from a bar is a wonderful experience.

Phoenix Hong Bridge - Fenghuang old town features many bridges over the Tuo River, with the most famous being the “Hong Bridge” or “Rainbow Bridge,” built during the Ming Dynasty. According to local legend, the bridge was constructed to “cut off the Dragon’s head” after the emperor learned that a future emperor might be born here. The bridge’s first floor is lined with souvenir and craft shops, while the second floor houses a tea shop and an exhibition of calligraphy and art.

Fenghuang - Zhangjiajie. The tour ends.

Fenghuang County - Today is a relaxing day. You can check out of the hotel around 12:00pm (noon) and then visit the Fenghuang South Great Wall, which is a 30-minute drive (15km) away.

Miaojiang Great Wall - The Southern Great Wall involves many steps and takes about an hour to climb to the top and descend on the other side. If you prefer not to climb, you may skip this activity. The wall was built between 1554 and 1622 during the Ming Dynasty for military purposes, to defend against the Miao people of the south. Located near Huangsiqiao ancient town, about 15km from Fenghuang County, the wall stretches 190 miles from Xiqueying in Guzhang County, Hunan province, to Huanghuiying in Tongren City, Guizhou Province. It is renowned as the “Thousands of Wall in Miao Area” and is one of China’s greatest ancient structures.

Zhangjiajie - Afterward, you will be driven to Zhangjiajie city center, where you can be dropped off at your hotel, the airport, or the train station. This marks the end of your tour services.
