Superb & exotic experience! - Joined the tour with my wife and two boys, and enjoyed a lot! Tour guide tools us thru 10+ different spices and fruits with a lot of interesting explanations. Many of them are not from my culture, and was interesting to learn! Last but not least, hospitality of the staffs are very good.

Pemba native scores big tour success - Seif Rashid Ali was our guide on the Zanzibar Spice tour. A native of Pemba island, he has rural roots and a deep knowledge of spice plants and traditional cures. It was fun to follow him scurrying through the gardens unearthing all manner of homeopathic treatments. He has preternatural energy and kept us on the go. If you listen carefully you can not help but learn a great deal.

Informative and fun spice tour - This is a great tour. Seif was a great guide who was super informative and had a great sense of humor. I had fun and learned a lot about the local horticulture as well. I highly recommend this tour!

Jambo mambo - We took a nice walk around the spice farm with our guide and one younger guy who helped a lot and made us some hats and necklaces. Everything was good.

Spice Tour Review - I highly recommend this tour to anyone who’s enthusiastic about learning about the huge variety of spices in Zanzibar, combined with the humour and passion of our wonderful guide. We also opted for lunch at the spice farm, which was an authentic and delicious experience of local flavours (vegetarian).

Nice tour - Interesting tour to learn about the production of spices and how some involve all different parts of the plant. Our guide met us right on time. We took a private van to the spice farm. You will also have a local ‘farm’ guide along the tour once you arrive who will make you beautiful plant/flower adornments, so be prepared to give him a tip ;). There’s also opportunity to purchase items along the tour, but unlike other reviews, we did not feel pressured to buy.

Wonderful tour of a Spice Farm - This was a wonderful guided tour and my tour guide was very knowledgeable about all the different spice trees and plants. At the end I was given jewelry made of flowers.

Fun and insightful tour - The tour was great! Our guide Sylvia (Sauda) was knowledgeable and made the tour fun by including an element of competition - who could name some of the many plants we checked out. There was an opportunity to purchase some spices and coffee, but no pressure to do so and the ride to the spice farm and back was smooth, clean and comfortable with AC.

Okay but I wouldn't recommend. - The tour was okay. Pick up was on time. Seif wasn't feeling well so we had another lady take us on the tour. We had a young man with us to get some spices off trees. At the end of the tour, we get to try different fruit but at the same time, the young man who was with us had made like bags, crowns and wrists bands using leaves. Then the tour guide said that these helpers don't get paid and it would be good to tip them. I didn't really like that as if they work on the farm, neither the farm nor the tour company is paying these young men? That seems highly exploitive and it puts you as the guest on the spot to tip them. Overall, the trip was ok but I wouldn't recommend it to be honest.

Don’t waste your money - This tour was a waste of time and money. The tour guide had a number of challenges- a hacking cough, a brain problem (?). But even without these, he made no relationship with us like Hi my name is ___, what are your names? His tour started when we got to the spice farm after a 30 minute drive and ended when we got back into the vehicle at the end. He didn’t give us much information and just kept asking us what we used each spice for and then invited us to ask questions. Didn’t feel like we learned anything. He apologized many times for his brain problem today.
