- Jozani Chwaka Bay National Park - Jozani forest is an eclectic bio-diversity, with many strange and wonderful animals residing in. The forest is home to the few remaining red colobus monkeys in the world which are the most famous inhabitants of the forest. They playing freely through the reserve and they can be spotted at close distance. You will also enjoy the fresh air during walking the big red mahogany trees and eucalyptus. If you are lucky enough you may see Sunnis (small deer), chameleon or even the famous Zanzibar Fischer’s Turaco bird!! Later after the monkey, you will have a walk on a mangrove boardwalk to visit different types of mangroves that are available on the Island. Different varieties of marine life can be seen and many more forest inhabitants are possible to be seen with sharp eyes! After the tour, you will return to the hotel.

Jozani Forest is worth the time. - The drive from our hotel was interesting because we passed so many interesting villages, schools, and markets. Excellent driver. I really liked the park ranger who gave us the tour through the forest. I could tell he is committed to conservation. I recommend going in the morning. The monkeys are more active then. We did not opt for the night tour but it sounded interesting.

Informative and fun - We had a great time on the Jozani forest tour. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and shared so much information and history with us, and getting to see the monkeys at play, up close and personal was an amazing experience.

Zanzibar's Nature - Jozani is a must visit when traveling to Zanzibar, particularly with Halisi Tours (and Hamza is their top guide!). The monkeys were fascinating to watch and learn about, as was the mango grove. An extraordinary nature experience close to Stone Town.

Nature Lovers Forest Excursion - Halisi Africa Tours is the best company I have found on the island of Zanzibar. We visited Jozani Forest and mangrove with our guide Hamza for a half day tour and loved it. The company goes beyond normal tour agencies and makes you feel like family. We loved seeing the Red Colobus monkeys, walking through the beautiful forests of mahogany, strangler fig, and Eucalyptus and dropping early seedlings into the mangrove. Highly recommend this lovely visit with Halisi Tours!

It was ok but experience - Expensive for the experience, not well organized tbh, but ok. We felt that as we were only 2 people, they were in a hurry to finish and take a bigger group (more tips)

Good guide, but the hike is far too short for the price! - This is not a criticism of the good guide, the pick-up service and the tour itself were well organized and very informative. Unfortunately it was shorter than stated, we would have liked to have spent much longer in the forest. We also had to pay $50 extra for the pick-up service. Overall, the price-performance ratio is rather poor. So we have a very good and friendly guide (1) combined with a 6 in price. Overall, a satisfactory rating!
