My tour guide Ingrid was... - My tour guide Ingrid was incredibly warm, knowledgeable and humorous. I was worried reading the other reviews of the tour but she truly made it worthwhile. She’s one of 22 inhabitants at Zaanse Schaans so she put in a lot of effort in showing us around, which is very much appreciated! I hope she gets to do more tours in Zaanse Schaans and share her infectious energy with all who visits!

HERMOSO PASEO - It is a beautiful walk that combines with Edam, Volendam and Marken. It's worth it, not only because of the mills, but because you can see the engineering works that to gain ground (polders), on the other hand, the village is very beautiful and quiet, beautiful to walk without haste.

An okay experience if you want to understand the culture. - The experience was okay, the tour guide was very knowledgeable and gave great detail and had bilingual language for all participants. I would say this is a huge tourist trap personally, it’s stated that they are. “Industrial” mills etc, but it’s just full of tourists and overly populated (at least for our trip it was). The location and area is beautiful and a landscape worth seeing, if you can look past the crowds of people (some people unaware or their own environment and arrogant). It’s interesting to get some of the historic culture of the Clogs, Mills and Cheese etc but you can have all of this experience within an hour tops, wouldn’t say this is a half day experience. It may be beneficial to have a Private tour or go yourself and pay for parking or get an Uber as the group size was very large.

Windmills, cheese and... - Windmills, cheese and clogs what's not to like ? Sadly so many people there it made it almost impossible to take any decent photos or see everything clearly. This may only be because of easter and the Tulip season but I can't be sure of. If it was quieter I would say it could be a great morning trip to get a bit of tradition and history.

From the description of... - From the description of the experience, we thought it would be by boat instead of motorcoach. The ride was Pleasant, but then the bus deposited us well outside the parking area so we had an extra amount to walk. The guy had very long legs and walked very rapidly and almost scolded us for being in the rear. I could not walk fast because I have an issue with my knee and nowhere. Where did it say that this tour was all by foot and access not accessible for everyone. The guide spoke very quickly. And there was no map to navigate around the village. I spoke with her about that and she really didn’t care. She narrated while in the bus, but not within the village itself. The description of the tour should be better and should include a map

Was not thrilled… Beautiful place but - I signed up for an English speaking tour, which is what I got, but he also repeated everything in German, which was a little irritating. The scenes were beautiful, but we did not need 2 1/2 hours just not enough to do so we hung around on a bench for an hour. Beautiful photo ops
