Follow the Sun - two weeks has passed since we did the 4-Day Uluṟu camping tour adventure. Lorrie was our tour guide. not only we were awed by the spectacular display of natural landscape but we also learned a lot re historical and cultural stories about the region. Lorrie’s story telling entertained us during our long trips from one site to another. Lorrie is incredibly knowledgeable about the cultural practices of the indigenous communities. her leadership and enthusiasm is so engaging. Lorrie is an inspiration. our mixed group made such great connections credit to Lorrie’s’ excellent coordination, doing an extra mile. Lorrie used to wake us up every morning before sunrise by playing 🎶Follow the Sun by Xavier Rudd.🎶 it quickly became the theme song of the group; i still keep playing this song early in the morning. we always end our evenings sitting and chatting around the campfire, such nice ambiance especially so under the starry moonlight night. a chance walking in the dark at dawn looking up the sky with fading stars in deep silence is magical.🌙✨💫 waking up to a stunning sky with red clouds sent me to reflective prayer.🙏 we took this trip to celebrate my husband’s 80th birthday. Lorrie had quickly organised a ‘cake and sparkling wine’ as a surprise. wonderful to have the whole group to celebrate with us in the middle of nowhere. overall, it was one fascinating and unique experience that i would recommend to anyone. thank you AutopiaTours. we miss u Lorrie. The best way to see the red centre! - The tour of a lifetime! We were well looked after by the brilliant tour guides who were so knowledgeable and kind - kudos to Casper and Adam for going the extra mile to make the adventure so fun and memorable. The hiking was stunning and camping was a great experience of everyone chipping in to help. A real adventure!

5 stars for Jem the guide and Autopia 4 day tour - Jem the guide was oustanding. Really nice mixed group in terms of age and nationalities. Basic facilities appropriate to the environment but did not detract at all. A good mix of sights. Apart from Jem herself, Ellery Creek Big Hole was the highlight - magnificent!

Amazing tour, 100% recommended! - This tour was literally one of the best tours I’ve ever done! It took place in January 2025 which made me a bit scared on forehand due to the hot weather. However, it could not have been better! Tourguide Adam had so much knowledge (especially about wildlife, nature and Aboriginals) and made sure we kept cool and hydrated during the trip. Besides that: almost no other tourists! The campgrounds were very remote (but good!) and therefore special. The stars we could see at night… my goodness! This tour covered a lot of km which made you experience Australia in the best and most authentic way possible: what a wide, beautiful and majestic country! I saw everything I wanted and more. All in all: perfect and a 100% recommendation!

AMAZING!!! - Since I was 12 years old I wanted to go to Australia so that I could visit the Red Center. When my husband and I started looking at the possible activities we could do there, we decided we wanted to visit Uluru and Alice Springs. We thought about renting a car to drive from one place to the other, but all the blogs recommended not to do so unless we knew the area pretty well because if something happened to us, it could be a long time before we got any help. Thank God we found this tour! We did the 4 day and it was so worthwhile! Not only because of the landscapes, the hikes and the swims in the waterholes, but also because of the people we met on the tour, and the whole camping vibe. It had been several years since the last time I had slept outdoors, and even though at the beginning I was a little bit scared because of the snakes, it was just a marvelous experience. The swag was very comfortable (even though they were a little bit dirty because they were filled with dirt) and going to sleep while looking at the sky full of stars was magical. Making our food in the campfire was also a great plus! And I was very impressed with the food we had each day! We got different dishes and they were very complete meals! Additionally, the bus was very comfortable, and the tour guide was such a character! I would have liked to receive more information about the different places, but I understand that the Aborigines don't share much of their knowledge and information so it could be that there wasn't much more to give. It is a lot of money, but the tour is very much worth it!

Safari to never forget ☀️ - We had a great experience with Utopia! Shearna was an amazing guide and extremely driven! We started hiking early in the morning to avoid the crowds and enjoy the sunrise ☀️. After a day full of wonders of nature we arrived at the camping, cooked together and slept in a tent or swag under the stars (we were the only travellers in the last campings) Thank you Shearna, Jemima and Utopia 🙏! I would highly recommend the tour and exploring the red center through a safari. ⛺

A perfect tour! - Dear Autopia Team, this way a big thank you for the great tour. Rheet is a fantastic guide, knowledge broker, driver, cook, entertainer, storyteller, ... He made the tour a real highlight of our trip to Australia. For those who wonder if it is worth flying to the "Red Centre" for 4 days, the answer is definitely YES. We would definitely book this tour again. I can't think of anything better to do! Another thank you goes to Mitch and his great wife who gave us an unforgettable time at sunset at Uluru. I proposed to my girlfriend and it was all so adorably prepared. The effort and effort went far beyond what was expected. Many thanks and best regards Sabine and Stefan

Excellent driver/Guide (Jim) - Beautiful sceneries/itineraries but very basic facilities - Positives: -Guide/Driver: Excellent, deserved a 10 out of 5. We were fortunate to have Jim (Jemima) as our guide/driver. Jim was fantastic, passionate about showing the beauty of the red centre, reliable and a safe driver; provided excellent commentaries during the trip and always ensured everyone in the tour was well attended to. -Itinerary: well-paced, beautiful places and covered key famous iconic scenaries of the Red Centre. Need improvements: -Accommodation/kitchen facilities were very basic. We stayed in Safari tents for the 3 nights (of the 4-day tour). Sand and dusts were found inside tents and on bedding. - Night 1: good communal bathroom/toilet, but very far from campground. Road was very dark, and broken street light outside campground made things worse; the trek to bathroom/toilet was inconvenience and a pain. But.... at least we had running hot/cold water and clean flushable toilets. -Night 2: wood fired hot water for shower and 2x composted toilets in camp ground (i.e toilets had no running water for flushing). We were lucky that it wasn't raining when we stayed and could light fire for a decent hot shower. - Night 3: the worst. Only one portable toilet in campground for whole tour group. No shower facility. - For transparency, the lack of shower facility and use of composte toilets need to be clearly set out in tour description to set the right expectation. In summary: Excellent driver/guide; beautiful sceneries and well-paced itineraries made up for the lack of facilities.

Nice tour with a lot of upside - The highlight of the tour was certainly our guide, Jim. Her radiant personality, high and positive energy carried the tour. That in itself is somewhat surprising and probably not the right order. We visited some great places - arguably the highlights - around Alice Springs. We would have liked more foto stops, eg Kata Tjuta by day-light. I understand why these aren’t facilitated with a packed and full tour, it will easily add 30 minutes to the overall travel time. However we feel like we missed out several scenic stops because of group size/profit optimization. Our main concern was the large group size. We were crammed in a small fan, fully loaded without proper room for backpacks or clothes/hats. Tall people (like me) suffered during the long drives with lacking leg room; just like my wife suffered from having to make space for my legs. The van was either too hot or too cold. The rear seats are much higher which means that you do not have great views, especially from the middle seats. We would pay more for smaller group. Profit optimization made us suffer. The food quantity could have been higher. There were NO drinks offered, other than water (coffee/thee) - a built-in fridge is far from impossible. Due to the large group size and the (consequential) broader variation in fitness level we walked very little. We wanted to make proper hikes, but it never got beyond small hikes with lots (too many) stops. If you want to catch the highlights and have some leisure walks, this is the perfect tour for you. If you want to be in a small group, make proper hikes and see more; this is not your best option.

Mixed review. Beautiful sites, consider different tour company - The positives: good communication after booking confirming arrival and departure and providing useful information about the trip. the sites that we were taken to were fantastic and the hikes were well planned out and well timed. The group size was luckily very small with only 11 people which was a saving grace. The campsites seemed like they would’ve been quite pleasant if the weather had been more favorable. Unfortunately our second night was under a torrential downpour so we could not get the showers heated nor start a fire and basically were in bed by eight with screaming cold wind going through our tents. The negatives: one huge concern was that our luggage and sleeping bags were all kept in a trailer that was pulled behind the bus. This trailer was not waterproof and as it was raining heavily, everything got soaked. This could’ve turned into a very dangerous situation if they had not had extra sleeping bags for everybody already at the campsite. All our clothing in our bags were very wet and many of us felt cold and uncomfortable after that point, especially since we couldn’t have a hot shower. The road out was potentially very dicey and got muddy, but luckily we managed to get the bus through. Not sure what we would have done if we gotten stuck in the mud as I heard it has happened before. The guides though very well intention and kind were very young and inexperienced. Our main guide had essentially four months of guiding experience as she had been off for a number of months due to an injury. Her helper guide was on her first trip to learn to become a guide. I also was appalled to find out that a normal tour with Autopia only provides one guide for a group of up to 25 people. This guide is expected to drive the bus for very long distances on little sleep, as well as direct setting up the meals, cleaning up after and dismantling the camp. They are also responsible to guide the groups through all the hikes, some of which are challenging. That seems unsafe. Finally
