By the end of it all, you’ll have a great overview of York and what you’d like to explore next.
It’s works like WhatsApp, so it’s easy to use. You don’t need to download or print anything and it doesn’t need any permissions. Plus, you get to start when you want.
Play together Captain Bess will invite you and your friends to join the hunt. Follow maps Bess sends you a series of treasure maps to your phones, leading you around the city. Search for answers Bess sends you a series of clues and you have to search the city for answers. Don’t worry if you can’t find the answer right away, you can always ask for hints. Along the way, she’ll tell you interesting facts and stories about the things you’re spotting.

YORK treasure hunt - Great way to see York in a diffent way, excellent guide and fun! Covered a couple of miles while seeing all of the top sights of the city.

Another great puzzle set around York - These trails successfully blend observational skills with cerebral exercise, along with historical information and a healthy walk. Some of the puzzles are quite challenging; more so than those in some other treasure trail options available on line. The organisational team are helpful - we had an issue accessing the trail and it was sorted out very quickly. Children will find this activity enjoyable and will be able to tackle the more observational puzzles, but will need help with the more analytical ones. Taking in the surroundings and refreshments along the way will stretch the trail to fill most of the day.

Great way to see York - A great way to see York. You get to see all of the touristy areas but also lots of hidden gems. The quiz was really good, quite challenging in places but always fun, and you can take it at your own pace.

Fun day with the family! - Really fun time with 2 pensioners and 2 kids and 3 adults. Very exciting finding the clues, the instructions were easy to follow and we only needed 1 hint.
The group chat feature was helpful and this is a great way to see the city. We'll come and do the other treasure hunt soon :)

Fabulous, informative and entertaining! - A great afternoon out. We loved the clues which led us round parts of York we had never seen before. The snippets of information were timely and very engaging. Despite the rain, we still had an amazing time and everyone was as keen to look for another treasure hunt in another city. Fab work! Thank you.

Treasure hunt around YORK - would highly recommend. It was great to go to different places in York which we hadn't been too before and learn some of York's history. Good fun as well

Good fun and gear stuff , excellent day - Second hunt we did. Did the first in Cambridge and it was quite difficult but this one is really good. Level of difficulty is just right. Made the all family walk without moaning. We had fun , we stopped for visiting the minster and treasurer’s house and other exceptional building. took us the whole day! We also liked the facts and learnt things ! Perfect!

Interesting, informative and fun tour of York - The route was a good length (not too long and importantly not too short), with lots of place to explore along the way for those with enough time and energy. Lots of beautiful parts of York, and the treasure hunt drew our attention to little details we had repeatedly missed the previous two days. Interesting information presented in a fun way. Good for a family with early teenage kids.
