A cruise on the ouse - On Saturday, 7th September, my friend and i went to use the self drive boats, which we had , the pleasure of driving the boat ourselves as it was our first time in doing this, and we could go at our own speed and take in the views along the way. It was a shame about the weather, but that was unfortunately out of our control, but there was a cover above to keep you dry . The staff at the landing area where the self drive boats are situated were very polite and explained everything to us very clearly, which was very helpful as it was our first time in the self drive boats ,especially Tamara who was very polite and helpful lady.When we got back to the landing area, we got off and went on to the daytime cruise, which was very good, and the skipper of the vessel was very knowledgeable of the history of york on and around the river. The staff on the daytime cruise were very polite, efficient, and helpful. The tour down the river was relaxing and knowledgeable with the onboard commentary. Later on in the evening, we came back for the evening cruise, which was very relaxing with soothing music been played while you sailed down the ouse. And when we went on board, there was a complimentary glass of prosecco,or a hot drink if you don't drink alcohol for you to enjoy while you sail down the ouse, with the music playing in the background. It was lovely to see the melenium bridge displaying a colourful light changing display. The staff on the evening cruise were very polite and welcoming

The hot chocolate was... - The hot chocolate was sooo good. Crew was very nice, I enjoyed that our boat wasn’t busy. We sat outside which I recommend. I think I would’ve preferred the 6pm but still wonderful!

Amazing - Lovely view and was very relaxing especially loved the free Prosecco and the music was very calming when we were going down the river

Boat arrived late, and kept us in the pouring rain. No apology. - Firstly I'll say I've been on several river cruises as a family with this company over the years, during the daytime. Never had an issue. However for date night I went with my wife on Monday 30th for the floodlit evening cruise at 6pm. It stated that boarding was at 5.30pm. We arrived at the dock at 5.20pm ready to board, and the boat was nowhere to be found. We were the first, standing there in the semi-dark, getting completely soaked. I called their helpline, put on hold for about 5 minutes and ended up giving up. Eventually the boat turned up at 5.37pm. It moored up and the 2 staff had a chat, whilst about 6 of us were standing outside in the pouring rain. Myself and my wife were completely soaked through. When the young girl came to let us on board, about 4 minutes after it moored, we weren't even greeted with a hello or an apology. She asked us to show our tickets outside, not even allowing us to step onboard under cover - making it quite hard to use my phone due to the rain. Onboard all the windows were open, so the boat was freezing. I managed to close some, but the heating wasn't working near us. As I had to take my coat off (as it was completely soaked through), I ended up sitting there in just my shirt, completely soaked. And in all honesty, all it would have taken was a "I am really sorry we were late". Courtesy goes a long way.

Canceled - You canceled it. Told us by email so we walked there to find no trip. They had our phone numbers but didn't call us.

Not worth the time or money - Honestly thought that this would be a cute end to mine and my partners date night, getting to see the gorgeous views of the city but I was sadly disappointed. There really wasn't much to see what so ever. Was expecting to at least see some christmas lights on either side of the river bed, but not even the houses we went by really had any. What made the experience worse was the drunk older gentleman bothering anyone and everyone he could. Really was not worth the money and was definitely a disappointing ending to the night. Staff was polite though at least.

Dire - Dire, boring and unimaginative. Total waste of money. Nothing to see, low level music. Maybe in summer might be OK, but winter, non starter.

Terrible…don’t waste your money - What a waste of money…no commentary which is stated but instead there was too loud tinny music all the way there and back. Nothing to see at all apart from trees and darkness! Awful experience.

Scam! - Absolutely awful! Waste of money! We did not see any sights, there was no commentary and we looked at bushes the whole time. Scam, waste of money and I would demand a refund

Most expensive glass of champagne. - It's a complete waste of time and money. There isn't much to see along the river Ouse. Worse when the boat literally goes up and down the same stretch of river repeatedly. Instead of recorded commentary they play music; must be because there isn't too much to say about the sights along the Ouse.
