Fantastic - Great pub and great tour. Tom, who took us round, did an excellent job. Finished with several gin tastings and some extras. The engraved glasses which we were given was a lovely gesture. Would highly recommend both the pub and the tour.

A fantastic gin experience more than worth the money! - What an absolutely brilliant afternoon. Tom was a fantastic host, with the perfect balance of humour and knowledge of gin and how the distillery works. The £30 for the tour and tasting is more than worth it and I guarantee if you like gin, you will love this couple of hours. The distillery and bar is a cracking venue and all the rest of the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. I will be recommending this to all my friends and family.

Brilliant tasting experience of a variety of small batch gins! - Brilliant experience! Tom was our expert on hand for the tour and tasting experience and we had a fabulous time. We were the only two for the day, and were shown the distillery and talked through the gin distilling process. The tasting experience was amazing, some flavours I'd never had before and great hospitality throughout. Well worth the money.

Loads of Fun - This tour and tasting was a blast! My wife and I absolutely loved it! The tour is fairly short but the tasting was quite detailed, Tom did a fantastic job! My wife is not a Gin fanatic but even she had fun trying everything.

Hooting Owl Distillery Tour - Booked this for a gift for my other half. We had to reorganize from the original date due to a medical issue they were really flexible about this. The place is excellent inside, and I would say the distillery tour is excellent value and a great 2 hours entertainment. The booking allowed for a free drink before and after the tour. The tour was hosted by Tom, and we found that super informative delivered really well. Our group of 12 was really good. After the tour, we were able to sample various signature guns in a lovely, relaxed environment. Really accommodated us and our dog Ava that came on the tour. We'll done Hooting Owl.

100% Recommended - Absolutely fantastic experience. We started with a tour and talk of the distillery with Mark, who was great and really informative. Before moving to our tasting with Tom, who was an absolute stand out, talking us through the origin and tasting notes of all the gins. It was incredible value for money and one of the best tasting experiences I’ve ever done. 100% recommended. We’d do it again in a heartbeat.

Fantastic - Excellent experience. Tom was a brilliant host - we learnt loads about the products which were great. The flavours infused into the gins were incredible (check out the rhubarb one!) Have been on several gin experiences before this was by far and away the best.

Excellent tour & cocktails - We visited with friends for the Distillery tour and history. This has to be one of the best distillery tour I have been on. The knowledge and history shown by Mark is second to none. Really informative and insightful. The tasting is also excellent as were the cocktails after. The venue itself is well worth a visit if you are in York with some fantastic aesthetics. Thank you for a fabulous afternoon and I will look forward to returning.

Just Outstanding - I reserved upstairs at the Hooting on saturday the 19th of July for a private function celebrating my 65th Birthday. Around 50 or so family and friends attended, with a loca talented musician Josh Murray providing the musical entertainment. The entire evening, 1800 till 11.45 went without a hitch thanks to the personal service and help from the lovely Yvette, and supported by the polite and courteous bar staff. A fantastic night, in fantastic surroundings, with fantastic barstaff. Cant give enough praise.The night was just perfect. If you are looking for a venue to celebrate your own milestone, choose upstairs at the Hooting Owl distillery, York who have now, many more impressed new customers to warmly welcome in the future.
