Day 1.
9 am: Our driver will pick you up at your hotel lobby in central Yogyakarta.

Enjoy a tour of the Yogya Sultanate Palace, including its museum and water castle, with a local private guide.

Visit Prambanan Temple.

Check-in at a 3-star or boutique hotel in Yogyakarta.

Borobudur Temple

Borobudur Temple - 3:30 am: Pick-up at your hotel lobby and travel to Puthuk Setumbu Hill to witness the sunrise over Borobudur, or to Dhagi Hill for a picnic breakfast with Javanese gamelan music and storytelling (extra USD 25 per person, seat availability needs to be confirmed).

8:30 am: If tickets are available at this time, explore the structure of Borobudur Temple up to its ninth floor.

Optionally, continue with a Borobudur village tour for an extra USD 25 per person. Travel by traditional Javanese horse cart to experience the local lifestyle and cultural values. Enjoy the scenic views and observe rural activities such as rice planting/harvesting, rice grinding, tofu making, pottery, bamboo crafts, and more.

Yogyakarta-Surabaya-Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park

Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park - 5 am: Check out from your Yogyakarta hotel.
Travel from Yogyakarta train station (executive class) to Surabaya.

In Surabaya, you will be picked up by our driver.
Proceed to Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park.

Check-in at a hotel in Bromo.
Rest and relax in preparation for the early morning Bromo sunrise tour.

Bromo Sunrise Tour

Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park - 3 am: Our guide/driver will pick you up at the hotel lobby or knock on your door. Proceed by jeep to three epic Bromo sunrise viewpoints: the usual Bromo sunrise viewpoint and two hidden, peaceful (non-touristic) viewpoints. One requires a 45-minute hike, and the other a 1-hour moderate trek, offering stunning views of Mount Bromo’s crater. Perfect for those seeking a unique experience in Bromo.

Afterwards, visit the Bromo savannah and sea of sand. If possible, meet the Tengger people, the native inhabitants of Bromo.

Return to the hotel for breakfast, then check out.
Travel to Bondowoso for the Ijen sunrise trek the following early morning.

Optional: Before Ijen, travel to Tumpak Sewu, a magnificent tiered waterfall, after checking out from Bromo. Stay overnight for the next early morning waterfall trek, extra USD 85 per person.

Ijen Crater Trek - Drop-off in Bali

Ijen Crater - 12 am: Hotel check-out for the Ijen blue fire trek, only when gas levels are safe. Our Ijen guide, who is informed about the latest gas levels, will advise your driver. If gas levels are too high, check-out and departure will be around 3 am.

After completing the Ijen crater trek, travel to Ketapang Harbor to cross to Bali by public ferry.

In Bali, you will be picked up by our Bali driver and transferred to your hotel.
